Not many would have expected Brentford to be in the mix for European qualification following Thomas Frank’s departure. But Keith Andrews has continued the Dane's fine work, leaving Bees fans dreaming.

On Sunday, they welcome Nottingham Forest, who sit in 17th place, five points clear of danger. Sean Dyche’s side have picked up four points from their last two league games to keep their heads above water, but need to carry on adding to their haul to keep danger at arm’s length.

📈 Brentford v Nottingham Forest Form & Tactics

Strong home form has been key to Brentford’s superb season so far. Their European hopes will come down to winning their games here in West London, with them starting the weekend in 8th, three points behind fourth-place Liverpool.

Seven home wins with 23 goals scored is a potent mix to turning the Gtech into a fortress, and with every angle of attack launched, visiting sides certainly have no place to hide.

Despite failing to score at Chelsea last weekend, the Bees have scored 2+ goals in four of their last six games, including four in their wins over both Bournemouth and Everton.

Nottingham Forest’s struggles this season have been summed up in the final third. Only Wolves (15) have scored fewer goals, with Morgan Gibbs-White their leading scorer with five.

Last weekend, there may have been some green shoots of recovery when they held table-toppers Arsenal to a goalless draw at the City Ground, but Forest didn’t trouble David Raya, failing to record a single shot on target.

Sean Dyche is also left juggling a stretched squad with this game coming days after a trip to Braga in the Europa League, where the gravelly-voiced gaffer will hope to avoid any knocks.

📔 Brentford v Nottingham Forest Formation & Team News

Keith Andrews has already made a signing this month adding Belgium Under-21 international Kaye Furo to the squad. Furo gives the Bees extra depth in attacking areas, something they’ve been lacking, and could feature from the bench.

However, the hosts will be without long-term absentees Fabio Carvalho and Josh Dasilva, who both have knee injuries. Veteran midfielder Jordan Henderson is still recovering from an ankle injury.

One man who has fallen down the Brentford pecking order is Frank Onyeka and he could find his way through the exit door this week.

For Forest, keeper John Victor is trying to shake off an injury picked up against Aston Villa after he had a rush of blood, which gifted John McGinn a goal. Has anyone been ruled out due to embarrassment? In his absence, Matz Sels should retain his place in between the sticks.

Dyche has stuck to his preferred 4-2-3-1 with Igor Jesus ploughing a lone furrow in Chris Wood’s absence. The Brazilian has only scored one Premier League goal this season, so the sidelined Kiwi remains a huge miss.
