In this article...
  • Leeds have only lost one of their last nine away matches in all competitions, but seven of those have ended in a draw.

  • Crystal Palace have a small injury list, but they are missing Daniel Munoz, which is a massive blow. In his absence, Brennan Johnson started at right wingback midweek.

  • Daniel Farke opted for plenty of rotation in Leeds’ last match against Norwich in the FA Cup, which they won 3-0 at Elland Road.

📈 Crystal Palace v Leeds Form & Tactics

Stach only featured briefly off the bench for Leeds last time out, but his services were not required. It was a comfortable victory for the hosts at Elland Road, and they were firmly in control throughout. Sean Longstaff opened the scoring after 32 minutes, before Gabriel Gudmundsson doubled the scoreline shortly after.

Following back-to-back Premier League defeats to nil, Leeds needed something to cheer about, so they should come into this clash full of confidence. They will hope that can translate to a positive performance and three points, as Leeds currently sit just three points above the relegation zone.

Crystal Palace find themselves in a much safer position, seven points ahead of Leeds, and a recent run of three Premier League wins from their last five has really helped them. However, they were left frustrated on Thursday night, and boos were heard at the final whistle as Palace were held to a 0-0 draw by AEK Larnaca in the Conference League.

Palace were somehow unable to find the back of their net despite their domination, with 13 shots and six big chances worth 1.98 xG, which puts them in a slightly precarious position for the second leg in Cyprus.

📔 Crystal Palace v Leeds Formation & Team News

Perhaps even more disappointing, was the fact that Oliver Glasner went for his strongest eleven. Jean-Philippe Mateta also made his return from injury with a brief cameo, but Strand Larsen will hope to keep his starting spot up front as the Frenchman builds his fitness. Munoz remains sidelined, so it’s uncertain who will deputise at wingback, but Nathaniel Clyne is probably the most natural option. Other than that, Glasner has a full squad available to choose from.

Daniel Farke will hope Dominic Calvert-Lewin has shaken off the minor injury which kept him out against Norwich, while Noah Okafor is also doubtful to feature. If the pair are ruled out, Lukas Nmecha should keep his spot up front. Ethan Ampadu should return to midfield alongside Ilia Gruev, while Jayden Bogle should return to his natural position at wingback. Sebastiaan Bornauw was replaced at half-time against Norwich due to illness, so James Justin looks set to feature in the back line.
