ADO Den Haag v FC Eindhoven
🏟
Friday 7th October – 7:00PM KO
This Friday there is a full round in the second division and ADO Den Haag vs FC Eindhoven is one of the interesting games going on. ADO manager Dirk Kuyt is under massive pressure from fans and board after another shocking defeat at the hands of Jong PSV. That defeat came as a bit of a surprise, as that was shortly after the decent win against top of the league PEC Zwolle, but it does sum up ADO’s season so far. ADO signed Ricardo Kishna, who was one of their best players last season, on a free, but he is probably not fit enough to start this game already.
It has to be said that ADO were a bit unlucky against Jong PSV as the visitors converted all three chances they got, but it marks the problems in The Hague. The defence isn’t good and it seems Kuyt struggles to motivate them. FC Eindhoven are yet to lose their first game this season. However, in the last weeks, things aren’t going as easy any more. The defence has been deficient, conceding five goals in three games. On the other hand, they haven’t had that many issues going forward, with 10 goals in the last four games. Against a weak ADO defence that are so prone to making mistakes this season, that should give them a good chance on a result.

Jong FC Utrecht v Almere City
🏟
Friday 7th October – 7:00PM KO
Jong FC Utrecht are bottom of the league this season and that is deserved. Their only victory this season came against Helmond Sport, who are on the same amount of points and they were lucky to get that victory. Almere City didn’t have a great start to the season, but their last two games ended in a victory and they are still in full contention for a play-off spot.
These victories were necessary to keep manager Alex Pastoor comfortable in his job, but came against two teams that were dubbed promotion candidates; De Graafschap and Roda JC. Especially the victory over Roda was a decent one and put them back in the mix for promotion. Jong FC Utrecht could have a couple of fringe players from the first team, but so far they haven’t really done that, so it is unlikely they’ll be much stronger than past weeks. On top of that, the best Jong Utrecht player so far this season, Albert Lottin, is out for this game. The French midfielder was sent off last week and sits out a suspension against Almere City. Almere on the other hand are pretty much complete for this match, so I don’t expect them to have many issues collecting the three points here.

FC Dordrecht v PEC Zwolle
🏟
Friday 7th October – 7:00PM KO
PEC Zwolle aren’t going through the best moment in their season, after winning the first five matches, they only won one of the last four games. That was because PEC Zwolle dropped their level a bit, but they were also playing the better teams in this league and were a bit unlucky. The defeat at the hands of ADO Den Haag two weeks ago was unexpected. This weekend they want to go back to winning ways and FC Dordrecht should be the perfect opponent to do that.
Dordrecht are one of the worst teams in the league. They surprised last week, claiming a draw away at FC Eindhoven, but that was barely deserved. Feyenoord loanee Aliou Balde has been decent for them, but the 19-year-old winger has been pretty inconsistent. PEC Zwolle will be without starting goalkeeper Jasper Schendelaar, who was sent off after ten minutes against Jong Ajax last week, but his replacement, Mike Hauptmeijer, ended up being chosen in the Eerste Divisie team of the week. PEC Zwolle also has got one of the best defences in the second division, so the goalkeeper change shouldn’t be a big problem for the side that suffered a surprise relegation last season. PEC Zwolle should be far better than Dordrecht, so I expect them to claim three easy points in Dordrecht.
