Rangers v Fenerbahce
Rangers and Fenerbahce reconvene for the second leg of their Europa League last 16 tie at Ibrox on Thursday night.
The Scottish giants produced an impressive performance that saw them claim a 3-1 win in Turkey last week.
Thus, Rangers are in the driving seat for a spot in the quarter-finals.
⭐ Rangers v Fenerbahce Best Bet
Vaclav Cerny has been one of the few shining lights at Ibrox this season. The on-loan Wolfsburg forward bagged a brace in last week’s first leg, meaning he now has six goals in nine appearances in this season’s Europa League. That goal return has coincided with Cerny averaging one shot per 90 on the continent this term. Thus, the Czechia international looks well placed to work the Fenerbahce goalkeeper once or more on Thursday night.
👕 Rangers v Fenerbahce Predicted XI

🔍 Rangers v Fenerbahce Players to Watch
⚫ Mert Muldur
Mert Muldur merits support to attempt a minimum of one shot. The full back is a real threat down Fenerbahce’s right side and often finds himself in the final third. Muldur has pulled the trigger in each of his last two starts in the Europa League, including last week’s first leg with Rangers. It’s also worth noting that Muldur has racked up a combined total of seven shots across his last four starts in the Turkish top-flight.
🔵 Leon Balogun
Look to Leon Balogun to commit a minimum of one foul. The experienced defender came off the bench last Thursday night and made one misdemeanour. That means Balogun has now been guilty of at least one offence in three of his four appearances for Rangers in this season’s Europa League. The 36-year-old will likely be up against Edin Dzeko, who is drawing an average of 1.33 fouls per 90 in this season’s Europa League.

💻 Fenerbahce v Rangers and Tactics
Rangers have saved most of their best football for the Europa League this season. The Gers exceeded expectations during the league phase to secure a top-eight finish, losing just two of their eight matches.
The Scottish giants have since stunned Fenerbahce to win last week’s first leg 3-1. Rangers produced a real clinical display in Istanbul last Thursday, scoring with three of their six on-target efforts to give Barry Ferguson his first win as interim boss. It’s also worth noting that Rangers had two goals ruled out in Turkey for narrow offside decisions.
Rangers are renowned for racking up corners by the bucket-load in the Scottish Premiership but that has not carried over onto the continent this term. In fact, Rangers have averaged a lowly 3.09 flag kicks per 90 in the Europa League this season, mustering up just three corners during last week’s first leg triumph.
Fenerbahce’s 18-game unbeaten run across all competitions came to an end against Rangers last Thursday. Jose Mourinho’s men may consider themselves slightly unfortunate to be trailing 3-1 from last week’s first leg. The Yellow Canaries won the shot count 23-8 last Thursday evening, with seven of those efforts calling Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland into action. The Turkish giants also managed to clock up 11 corners to Rangers’ three. While Fenerbahce collected just one yellow card when falling to defeat against Rangers last week, they have been one of the most ill-disciplined teams in this season’s Europa League. In fact, no team has collected more yellow cards than Fenerbahce (43) at this stage of the competition, not to mention they have also received three red cards. However, Fenerbahce are also adept at drawing fouls from their foes, evidenced by the fact they have earned a tournament-high 171 free kicks to date.
