Kane is likely to get chances here as Bayern attempt to break down one of the most stubborn defences in South America, which should see Bayern pen back Flamengo for large periods.

These numbers indicate that Kane should have a few sights of goal here, aided by the quality of service he will be receiving from the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Michael Olise.

Jonathan Tah finds himself in a challenging defensive situation at the Club World Cup, having committed four fouls across three appearances (1.70 per 90) while anchoring Bayern Munich's makeshift backline. With Vincent Kompany still missing key defenders, the center back has been paired with Josip Stanisic - normally a fullback - creating a vulnerable defensive unit that's forcing Tah into more last ditch interventions than usual. This vulnerability will be particularly tested against Flamengo's dangerous counter attacking approach.

While Tah averaged just 0.48 fouls per 90 during his 33 Bundesliga appearances for Bayer Leverkusen last season, those numbers don't reflect his current predicament. The absence of Bayern's first choice defenders has left their backline disorganised, often leaving Tah isolated against breaking attackers with little choice but to foul. This trend has already been evident in the tournament and could worsen against Flamengo's pacy forwards.

The Brazilian side will likely target Bayern's defensive instability by launching quick transitions, precisely the situations that have seen Tah's foul count rise. Tah may find himself forced into more tactical fouls to prevent clear scoring chances - a risky approach that could prove costly.

With Bayern expected to dominate possession in this game and spend most of their time in Flamengo’s half, they could be vulnerable to counter attacks during moments of transition - especially with a backline that is struggling with injuries.

Neuer has been forced into making 2+ saves in two of his three games at the Club World Cup so far, with the exception coming against Auckland, where he was still called into action once. These save numbers extend the argument that Bayern may struggle at times to deal with the speed and directness of Flamengo in moments of transition, just as Chelsea did in their 3-1 defeat to the Brazilians. 

Neuer was forced into making 32 saves across his 22 matches in the Bundesliga during the 24/25 season (1.45 per 90). We can expect this metric to rise slightly here given the issues plaguing the Bayern Munich backline and the fact that Flamengo have drawn 2+ saves from the opposition goalkeeper in all three of their Club World Cup games so far. 

Michael Olise has made an impressive start to life at Bayern Munich following his summer move from Crystal Palace. The Frenchman has been particularly influential at the Club World Cup, contributing to five goals in three appearances, with three goals and two assists. While four of these came in Bayern's 10-0 rout of Auckland, he also netted against Boca Juniors and impressed in his 45 minute cameo against Benfica, completing more dribbles than any other player, while having two shots. 

Olise's tournament contributions have taken his season tally to an outstanding 40 goal involvements in 53 appearances across all competitions. Having arguably been Bayern's standout performer this campaign, he'll be crucial in breaking down the Flamengo defence in what promises to be a tightly contested knockout tie.

Laimer has been filling in at right-back for Bayern Munich, with Vincent Kompany’s side dealt yet another blow to their backline with Sacha Boey picking up an injury in their final group game. Bayern were already a little light in the fullback areas with Davies also sidelined, but this will further unbalance the Bayern Munich backline. 

Laimer is usually a midfielder, but has been used pretty frequently by Kompany as a right back, often coming into central areas when Bayern are in possession. Laimer received eight yellow cards across his 19 starts for Bayern in the Bundesliga during the 24/25 season, while averaging 1.86 fouls committed per 90, which highlights how uncomfortable he can be in 1v1 duels as a makeshift fullback. No Bayern player picked up more cautions than Laimer during the 24/25 Bundesliga season, making him a key player to highlight here to pick up a caution.

This is one of the tougher ties that Bayern could have got in the knockout stages, but they should still have enough quality to overcome the Brazilian side. Bayern’s loss against Benfica was damaging in terms of the side of the draw they have ended up on, but Vincent Kompany made plenty of changes in the game with the heavy hitters only coming on in the second half. 

Bayern should be able to unlock this stubborn Flamengo defence with the options they have in their frontline, most notably Olise and Kane who have registered eight goal contributions between them already at the Club World Cup. Flamengo may just not have enough in forward areas to compete with the scoring power of Bayern, even if they can trouble their backline at times with the absences Vincent Kompany is contending with.
