Strasbourg v PSG
🏟
Friday 29th April – 8:00PM KO
Paris Saint-Germain secured the Ligue 1 title last weekend and come up against a Strasbourg side chasing European football. Nevertheless, the odds on this match make PSG a worthwhile bet, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side rarely available at such long odds.
The visitors are likely to have all their key players available for this game – with the exception of suspended midfielder Idrissa Gueye – and such are the demands of their superstar front three, it would be hugely surprising to see any left out of the starting XI for this match. Pochettino has promised some younger players more game time, but this is unlikely to see wholesale changes in the team.
Meanwhile, PSG have been in good form lately, winning four of their last five matches in all competitions, including commanding away successes over Clermont and Angers.
Strasbourg, too, have little form against PSG. They have lost their last four matches against the capital club and have conceded exactly four goals in each of their last three. They are winless in nine against Les Parisiens dating back to December 2017.
Julien Stephan has his side playing some decent stuff but they saw an 11-match undefeated run ended by Lille last weekend. They will also be backed by a vociferous home support, but it is nothing that a team as experienced and full of quality such as PSG should not be able to handle.
The odds on the visitors are just too good to overlook for this match.

Lens v Nantes
🏟
Saturday 30th April – 4:00PM KO
Lens should improve their chances of winning a spot in Europe next season against Nantes on Saturday. While the home side have been playing well lately, their visitors will have one eye firmly on next weekend’s Coupe de France final against Nice, which will take priority for them at this late point of the season.
Lens, meanwhile, are a side going well. Indeed, they have such a strong mentality about them right now, they were able to come back from a goal down against Paris Saint-Germain last weekend to draw 1-1 in the capital. Only two teams all season have left Parc des Princes without a defeat this term and Lens became the first club to do so while also scoring.
At home, they have played well off the backing of a vocal and colourful home support, which will fill the stands this weekend. Successive wins have been picked off against Clermont, Nice and Montpellier, with all these victories coming by at least a couple of goals.
Nantes, meanwhile, will be thinking about their trip to Stade de France next weekend, and that may mean that they take a cautious approach to injuries for key players Nicolas Pallois and Pedro Chirivella, who are both nursing problems. Moreover, they will be without three potential starters because of suspensions.
They have not travelled well in the second half of the season, either. In their seven road trips in the league, they have picked up just a single victory while they have lost on four occasions.

Rennes v Saint-Etienne
🏟
Saturday 30th April – 8:00PM KO
Saturday evening’s fixture between Rennes and Saint-Etienne is one that should yield plenty of goals. Rennes, for example, have been outscored in Ligue 1 this season only by Paris Saint-Germain and carry a threat all over the field.
Last weekend, they eased to a 5-0 home success over a Lorient side above their weekend’s visitors in the standings. Such an emphatic victory is no fluke, they have also beaten Bordeaux 6-0 and Metz 6-1 since the beginning of the year at Roazhon Park, where 10 of their 12 victories this season have come by a margin of greater than a single goal. Seven of their last 10 Ligue 1 outings, meanwhile, have seen four or more goals.
Saint-Etienne, similarly, have been involved in a long sequence of high-scoring matches. Four of their last five league matches have yielded at least four goals while the other was a 2-1 home win over Brest.
The visitors are unlikely to have the defensive strength to be able to withstand the attacking prowess of the home side, who have netted an incredible 46 times in front of their home support in 17 matches. Evidence of this lies in their recent encounters against other top five years Marseille and Monaco, against whom they conceded four on each occasion.
The previous match this season saw Rennes run out 5-0 winners away to Saint-Etienne in December, with Martin Terrier grabbing a hat-trick on that occasion. The hosts should simply have too much firepower for their opponents to deal with.
Over 3.5 goals or Rennes with a -1 handicap are both nice looking bets for this game.
