Marseille will be missing as many as 11 players for Sunday’s visit of runaway league leaders PSG, making the odds of 1.91 on a PSG win excellent value.

OM may be undefeated at home this season, but Luis Enrique’s side are yet to taste defeat on their travels in Ligue 1 and will be treating this match with the full focus it deserves.

PSG and Marseille have one of the hottest rivalries in French football, so there will be no benching of Kylian Mbappe for this game, with the visitors set to go for the throat of their hosts from the beginning.

Unfortunately for OM, the situation does not look good. Four players picked up injuries on international duty, including the in-form Ismaila Sarr and France player Jonathan Clauss. None will be able to feature.

Head coach Jean-Louis Gasset does not have a fit right back, with the only defenders certainly available to play centre back being Chancel Mbemba and left back Quentin Merlin. This is a situation that PSG could look to exploit by moving Mbappe back out to his favoured position on the left. Most full-time right backs struggle to stop him, let alone someone drafted into a makeshift role.

To make matters worse for OM, their recent record against PSG is not good. This is a fixture that the Parisian side tend to find their best level for. Evidence of this was provided early in the season as they blew away their rivals 4-0 at Parc des Princes, while they were 3-0 winners at Stade Velodrome when they last visited a year ago.

With PSG treating this match seriously and Marseille simply decimated across their backline, even backing the league leaders with a -1 handicap at 4.0 looks tempting.
