📂 PSG v Monaco Cheat Sheet
📈 PSG v Monaco Form & Tactics
Despite their rotation at the weekend, PSG were still able to come away with a comfortable 3-0 win, thanks to goals from Desire Doue, Bradley Barcola, and Goncalo Ramos. The Parisians racked up 17 shots worth 2.41 xG, while conceding just three shots worth 0.09 xG in return. They were able to capitalise on Lens’ defeat to Monaco, which means PSG have reclaimed their spot at the top of Ligue 1.
PSG have lost just two Champions League matches this season, and were unfortunate to miss out on a top-eight finish, but one of those defeats came on home turf. Monaco will hope to replicate the performance of Bayern Munich as they aim to upset the current European champions.
They will be confident of doing so, too, after their impressive performance against Lens last time out. After going 2-0 down at the Bollaert-Delelis Stadium, Monaco showed real character to fight back and turn the game around. Ansu Fati’s goal in the 72nd minute proved decisive, and Monaco were able to cling on to the three points. That result made it five games unbeaten in Ligue 1, lifting Monaco up to 8th in the standings.
📔 PSG v Monaco Formation & Team News
The only negative from that game was that Krepin Diatta came off with an injury in the first half, joining an extensive list of Monaco players currently unavailable or doubtful to feature. Eric Dier and Mohammed Salisu remain missing at the back, while Paul Pogba and Takumi Minamino are also injured. Maghnes Akliouche was absent from the matchday squad at the weekend, and he would be another major loss. Ansu Fati was fit enough to feature from the bench, and could be rewarded with a start midweek after scoring against Lens.
PSG were also dealt a setback at the weekend, as Desire Doue hobbled off, meaning he is unlikely to play midweek. Ousmane Dembele is also out, but Bradley Barcola and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia should be available. Vitinha and Joao Neves were rested at the weekend, and only played the final 30 minutes from the bench, but they should start here, with Warren Zaire-Emery to complete the midfield trio.
