Sonderjyske v Aarhus
If there is any success that these two teams can claim to have, it’s their consistency at being very poor. You’d have to be a very brave person to put a bet on a winner for this game, so instead back both teams to score.
Sonderjyske (SND) haven’t won a league game in any of their last 16 matches. That’s a run that stretches right back to the 19th of September when they took advantage of a Brondby side who were crumbling at the time. Meanwhile, Aarhus (AAH) Haven’t won in any of their last seven games. In fact, their only win in their last 1 game was against their hosts today SND!
SND’s poor form is one of the main reasons for this tip, they haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last eight games. And throughout the whole season so far, they have conceded 47 goals in 25 games. Very close to that dreaded two goals per game.
Since the end of the winter break, in the eight games that SND have played, six have ended with both teams scoring. Also, in their last five games their games have seen 13 goals, over 1.5 goals in each of those games.
AAH are almost in an exact replication of form as SND. In their last eight games since the restart, six of their games have seen both teams score. Sound familiar?
Neither side have really achieved anything in their last five games other than a couple of draws. SND are bottom of the table and in truth, their play has definitely improved as they continue to fight against their inevitable relegation. However this attacking style which they have adopted means they are far more open, so even when they do manage to score they will almost certainly concede.
Vejle v Nordsjaelland
Vejle (VJL) have certainly become a changed team since the winter break. In 2021, if you would have said that VJL have a chance at staying up to any fan of the league, you would have been looked at like a maniac. But now a change in style, a change of pace means that they are genuinely in with a chance of survival, but it’s games like Nordsjaelland (NOR) which they need to win if they want that chance.
Today I am backing a double chance of Vijle or draw and to me it seems like a fairly obvious choice. VJL are unbeaten in their last eight home games. And since the winter break, in their three home games they have won two and drawn one, whilst scoring seven goals in the process.
In fact, VJL have been so poor this season in most games that their home form has really gone under the radar. They haven’t lost a home game in the league at the Vijle Stadion since September. And it’s this home defence which could eventually see them escape the clutches of relegation.
The compounding factor in this bet is not only VJL’s home form, but also NOR’s very bad away form. NOR have only won one of their last 10 away games and it’s this awful form away from home which has seen NOR drop dramatically in the table.
This game is the perfect storm of two teams, one who are only good at home against a side who are awful away and they also happen to be right next to each other in the table. This game is massive in terms of the two sides’ seasons. But a home win or draw is the only way I see this game going.
