📈 Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace Form & Tactics

Forest’s win last time out against Brentford was just their second in their last seven matches, but they have also now won two of their last three, both away from home, and sandwiched in between was a very solid point against league leaders, Arsenal.

The City Ground has often been a safe haven for Forest, but this season they’ve managed just three wins from 11 games there.

Goals have been at a premium too, only Wolves and opponents Crystal Palace have scored fewer times at home.
Palace’s home record is very similar, but they’ve found their joy in their travels.

Palace have the eighth best away record in the Premier League. Hardly something to shout about, but five wins from 11 is the second highest number of away wins for any Premier League side, only Arsenal can better that with six.

Palace are now without a win in 11 in all competitions. Aside from Premier League struggles, that includes a European loss to KuPS and an FA Cup disaster against Macclesfield.

With all the noise surrounding the club with Mateta, Glasner, and the recent loss of Guehi, they really are suffering.

📔 Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace Formation & Team News

Forest will be in their usual shape, a pretty stable 4-2-3-1. The resurgence of Sangare has been a big plus this season, he’ll anchor the midfield alongside star man Elliot Anderson.

That frees up Morgan Gibbs-White in the number 10 position. Igor Jesus will start in attack, he’s picked up some good form lately and has found the net twice in the past week.

No new injuries for Forest, who remain without Chris Wood and Nicolo Savona, with both still expected to remain out for another few months.

As for Palace, they’re being stretched. Kamada is injured and Adam Wharton is suspended, meaning that their two starting deep midfielders are both unavailable. I’d expect a pretty combative pairing of Will Hughes and Jefferson Lerma as a result. Eddie Nketiah, Nathaniel Clyne, and Cheick Doucoure are all also injured.

The issues surrounding Mateta and his potential transfer away leave Glasner with an interesting dilemma, as they lack a strong option to replace him as they continue to press on to bring in Jorgan Strand Larsen. In good news for Palace, Daniel Munoz returned to action last week and played 76 minutes.
