📈 Nottingham Forest v Liverpool Form & Stats

Forest will be able to relax a bit at the City Ground when they face Fenerbahce in the second leg, as they were convincing in Turkey. The hosts managed just six shots worth 0.48 xG, meaning Stefan Ortega only had two saves to make. In return, Forest racked up 23 shots and four big chances worth 2.74 xG - they really could have scored more goals. It was an impressive debut for Vitor Pereira, handing Fenerbahce their heaviest defeat of the season, and he will hope that is a sign of good things to come.

With an eight-day gap between this match and their last fixture, Liverpool have had plenty of time to rest and prepare. While they haven’t fared well against Forest in recent years, failing to win any of the last three head-to-head encounters, Arne Slot’s men were convincing against Brighton last time out, and they have looked strong in the final third in recent games.

The Reds have bagged 20 goals in their last seven matches across all competitions, winning five of those games. Sitting sixth in the league standings, Liverpool trail Chelsea by two points and Man United by three, so will have their sights set on breaking into the top four.

📔 Nottingham Forest v Liverpool Formation & Team News

Curtis Jones filled in at right back against Brighton, as Liverpool have a bit of a crisis in that position. Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong are both out, while Wataru Endo also picked up a major injury against Sunderland, which means he won’t feature for the rest of the season. Ryan Gravenberch was an unused sub against Brighton, but he could return to partner Dominik Szoboszlai in midfield. Cody Gakpo and Salah should occupy the flanks, with Hugo Ekitike up front.

Vitor Pereira is likely to go with an unchanged lineup from that which started midweek, with no fresh injury concerns. Murillo scored a wonderful goal from outside the box against Fenerbahce, and he also found the back of the net at Anfield this season, so the Brazilian should be looking forward to this game. Elliot Anderson and Ibrahim Sangare should have plenty of defensive work to get through in midfield, while Igor Jesus will hope to keep his starting spot up front after putting in an excellent performance in the Europa League.
