We will soon see Igor Jesus in the Premier League as he is joining Nottingham Forest following the conclusion of the Club World Cup. Forest fans will have been impressed by what they have seen from the 24 year old striker so far, who has scored against PSG and Seattle Sounders already.

Jesus has had four shots on target across his three appearances in the competition (1.35 per 90), which is a record that suggests he can hurt Palmeiras here. Jesus is averaging 1.44 shots on target per 90 across his 10 appearances in the Brazilian Serie A this season.

Allan is in for a real scrap as Botafogo's holding midfielder in this all-Brazilian clash. These sides are very familiar with each other, having faced off four times last year, including a knockout game like this in the Copa Libertadores.

Botafogo are averaging 14.7 fouls committed per 90 in the Brazilian Serie A this season, something which has been reflected in their Club World Cup games so far. The Brazilian sides appear to have been underestimated by many and have shown the quality to match their European counterparts. Palmeiras managed to top a group which included Inter Miami, Porto and Al Ahly. They are yet to lose a game, but will want to ensure that the two draws they played out in the group stages do not become the norm; they occasionally lack that cutting edge to fully kill off a game.

Botafogo had a much tougher group, which included PSG, Atlético Madrid and Seattle Sounders. They managed to finish second in the group, which is quite the achievement within itself, seeing as Atletico Madrid and PSG were expected to come through the group without any real issues. Igor Jesus has been bright for Botafogo with two goals in the competition so far. 

Unlike most of the games at the Club World Cup, these sides know each other very well. They faced off four times in 2024, with three of these games being won by Botafogo and the other ending in a draw. The most recent head to head meeting between these sides took place back in March and ended in a 0-0 draw, so there is a possibility we need extra time and penalties to crown a winner here.
