Spain Over 1.5 Goals

Spain have scored 2+ goals in seven of their nine games in the Nations League this season, only failing to cross this mark in the group stages against Serbia (0-0) and Denmark (1-0). They’re averaging 2.6 goals per game in the Nations League and have scored 3+ goals in each of their last two games in the competition, including firing five goals past France in the semi-final.

Portugal have only managed to keep one clean sheet in the Nations League which came against Scotland (0-0). They conceded two goals against Denmark in the second leg of their quarter-final and should have really been punished by Germany in the first half of their semi-final, with Diogo Costa being called into action on four occasions in the first period.

Spain have the attacking quality to unlock any backline, and may look to target Portugal down the wide areas here where they are incredibly strong with Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams. Spain’s underlying attacking numbers in the Nations League are really promising, they’ve racked up the highest xG of any side in the competition (20.7) and also sit top of the shots on target per game rankings (7.3).

NIco Williams to have 2+ Shots

Williams was a real thorn in the side of France in the semi-final. He had five shots in just 64 minutes of action against Didier Deschamps’ side and was particularly effective up against Pierre Kalulu, who was making his international debut.

Williams could find himself in a similar situation here where he has the edge over his direct 1v1 opponent. Diogo Dalot is still recovering from an injury which could leave Williams against Joao Neves as a makeshift right back who started against Germany, or Nelson Semedo.

Either opponent will struggle to deal with the quality and speed of Williams who has had 24 shots across his seven games in the Nations League this season (4.39 per 90). Williams often finds himself in shooting positions for his country due to the focus that Yamal gets from the opposition, freeing him up to cause damage.

Marc Cucurella to Commit 1+ Fouls

Cucurella committed a foul and contested nine duels in Spain’s 5-4 victory against France. It wasn’t his best performance in a Spain shirt, but he has confirmed himself as a regular in the national team following his impressive performances at the European Championships last summer.

He has committed four fouls across his six matches in the Nations League this season (0.67 per 90). He also committed 37 fouls across his 36 appearances for Chelsea in the Premier League during the 24/25 season (1.11 per 90) and should be regularly tested here by Chico Conceicao, who scored a fantastic equaliser against Germany.

Conceicao has won five fouls in the Nations League this season, despite only starting two games (2.33 per 90). His foul won record stays pretty solid when looking over his numbers for Juventus during the 24/25 Serie A season in which he won 36 fouls across his 26 appearances (2.42 per 90).

Lamine Yamal to Score or Assist

Lamine Yamal delivered a standout performance in the semi-final, scoring twice and earning man of the match. Once again, he rose to the occasion on the big stage, just as he had during the European Championships. His ability to threaten the opposition was evident throughout the match, creating three chances and consistently causing problems for Theo Hernandez.

Yamal also showed his composure by stepping up to take Spain’s penalty, a responsibility he could shoulder again in this match. Spain have won more penalties than any other team in the Nations League (5), highlighting their ability to force defensive mistakes.

Yamal's club form further underscores his importance, with 39 goal contributions in 55 appearances for Barcelona during the 24/25 season. His ability to produce both goals and assists at such a high level makes him one of Spain’s most dangerous attacking threats.

Bruno Fernandes to be Shown a Card

Bruno Fernandes always wears his heart on his sleeve, but this is particularly evident when there is a trophy on the line. Fernandes contested nine duels against Germany, impressively managing to win seven of these. He was hauled down three times in the game, but this matchup should see him on the other side of these challenges.

Fernandes will be up against a Spanish midfield that is excellent at keeping the ball and controlling the tempo of the game, also showing a strong ability to win fouls. Spain drew 14 fouls from France in their semi-final, also committing 17 themselves which would suggest that Luis de la Fuente’s side don’t mind the physical side of the game, something which could antagonise Fernandes.

He has picked up two cautions across his eight appearances in the Nations League this season, only Ruben Dias (3) has picked up more bookings during the campaign. Fernandes is also averaging 0.96 fouls committed per 90 in the Nations League this season, which could increase here given the occasion and Spain’s smart midfield setup.

Portugal GK to Make 3+ Saves

Portugal could have been knocked out of the competition in the first half of their semi-final against Germany if it wasn’t for Diogo Costa. The Porto keeper made four saves in the first half alone which allowed his side to stay in the game and mount a second half comeback.

We can anticipate that Costa will be just as busy again here against a Spain side that is averaging 7.3 shots on target per game in the Nations League, more than any other side in the competition.

Diogo Costa has been forced into making 28 saves across his eight matches in the Nations League this season (3.36 per game). He’s maintained a 77.8% save percentage throughout which should be strong enough to keep Spain out on at least three occasions.
