Preston v Leicester
🏆
Competition: Championship
📅
Kick Off: Monday 29th April at 20:00
11/1 Preston v Leicester Punt
⚽ Jamie Vardy to score anytime
Cometh the hour and it is hard to keep Jamie Vardy out of the story.
Vardy added gloss to the scoreline against Southampton in midweek, but his numbers for the season still stand out and give him a real chance of prolonging his Leicester career into another Premier League spell.
He has 16 Championship goals, at 0.89 per 90, an incredible ratio. He does have 0.82 xG per 90 as well, which shows that he is getting the chance to score that level of goals, which is an achievement in itself.
He could easily add to his tally here with a recent record of six goals in his last seven starts.
🟨 Ryan Ledson to be shown a card
The Preston midfielder is the most likely player on the pitch to be shown a card.
Whilst the bookies seem to agree with this assessment there is an argument to say that they haven’t gone far enough.
Ledson has 7 cautions this season from 16.4 90’s, almost 1 in 2. He picked up a yellow in the last game against QPR and up against Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Wilf Ndidi in the midfield it is a tough ask for Ledson.
🛑 Jannick Vestergaard to commit 1+ foul
The big centre-back is a big price for a single foul here considering his recent record.
Vestergaard has 8 fouls in 3 matches, including 4 against Southampton and 3 against West Brom.
Whether he has recently been given different instructions to usual, or whether it is just an anomaly, it is worth taking advantage of this price given the recent data.
23/1 Preston v Leicester Punt
⚽ Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to score or assist
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been instrumental in the Foxes’ promotion this year.
He has the highest number of goal involvements in the team with 26 in 40.2 90’s. This also makes him the second most regular player involved in goals for Leicester this season, behind the aforementioned Jamie Vardy.
He produced an assist against Southampton in midweek and it will be hard to keep him out of the play around the box again here.
🛑 Hamza Choudhury to commit 2+ fouls
There is a good chance that Hamza Choudhury will be rotated back into the starting XI for this match and if he does then his fouls record means that he is a bet at odds against for at least a couple of fouls.
Choudhury’s role in the team is to be physical and disrupt opponents. He has recently been used at right-back where he has racked up fouls, 5 in his last start, to go with a recent 3 at Bristol City and 5 again at Sunderland.
🟨 Robbie Brady to be shown a card
Robbie Brady will be in a 1v1 defending position on a regular basis in this match-up against either Ricardo Pereira or Adbul Fatawu, both of whom are in great form.
Brady picked up a card in his last match and is averaging a yellow card in almost every three 90s, which makes his price in this match look pretty fair.
The fact that he received a card in the last match also eases concerns about Preston picking up cards despite having nothing to play for, indeed, the team collected four of them last time out against QPR.
