Rob Cross v Ryan Joyce Expert Tips & Predictions
The second last eight tie of the night sees Cross, who beat Luke Littler in the first round, meet Ryan Joyce – who impressively got past Nathan Aspinall in the last 16. Voltage is the favourite for this one and he has a very strong recent H2H record against his opponent.

Rob Cross v Ryan Joyce Best Bets
🎯 Rob Cross to Win
Rob Cross has reached the quarter-final stage of the World Grand Prix for the first time in his career and he can break new ground by booking a semi-final berth at the expense of Ryan Joyce. ‘Voltage’ was able to overcome his historical struggles in this event by upsetting the apple cart to send Luke Littler packing in round one. The world number four has since put in a polished display to see off Martin Schindler.
While Friday night’s quarter-final tie with Ryan Joyce is no gimme, Cross looks ready to bring Joyce’s World Grand Prix journey to an end. The Newcastle ace has exceeded expectations by getting to this stage, and his wins over both Josh Rock and Nathan Aspinall demonstrate that he cannot be taken lightly. However, Joyce survived some errors to stumble over the line against Aspinall and similar mistakes are unlikely to go unpunished by Cross.
🎯 Ryan Joyce Over 2.5 180s
Ryan Joyce is not exactly renowned for being a frequent 180-hitter but backing him to hit three or more stands out at 1.67. Joyce eased himself into the tournament with a 2-0 win over Josh Rock, hitting a couple of maximums for good measure. He then upped his 180 count to five to overcome number eight seed Nathan Aspinall in round two.
Joyce was hitting the treble 20 bed during his 3-2 win over ‘The Asp’ on a pretty consistent basis and he will have to replicate that type of performance if he is to thwart Cross. There is also plenty of scope for this showdown to require four or five sets, and that only adds to the appeal of backing ‘Relentless’ to rack up at least three maximums. After hitting five 180s against Aspinall, Joyce looks overpriced to cover the over 2.5 line against Cross.
