Brage vs Norrby
🏟
Saturday 28th May – 12:00PM KO
These two both endured frustrating results last weekend. Brage, as they continue to push towards the top-of-the-table, come into this on the back of a 1-1 draw away to Landskrona, making it back-to-back draws for the hosts. Norrby, on the other hand, were beaten 2-0 at home but Utsiktens, making it just one victory in their last seven matches.
In the 2021 campaign, Brage finished firmly in the middle-of-the-table in the Superettan but a busy off-season in which they signed 13 players means they began this season expecting to kick on. Under the management of Kleber Saarenpaa, they have done just that so far and, whilst they will be frustrated with their recent draws, they remain second in the table having lost just once all season.
They now come up against a Norrby side that come into this on the back of a frustrating couple of months. They had started the season strongly but now sit in the bottom-half of the table, having scored just six goals all season – no team has scored fewer goals in Sweden’s second-tier.
The underlying data, though, does suggest that the visitors have been unfortunate with their overall expected goals at 1.51 per game. That remains high on the road, too, at 1.49.
Whilst Brage will remain favourites, especially at home, a value bet may well be both teams scoring. Especially given the fact that only two teams have scored more than Brage’s 19 in nine games so far – and those two teams, Brommapojkarna and AFC Eskilstuna, have only scored one more.

Trelleborg vs Landskrona
🏟
Saturday 28th May – 12:00PM KO
These two begin this tenth round of Superettan fixtures both sitting firmly in the middle-of-the-table. Trelleborg come into this on the back of a deflating 2-1 defeat at home to an Osters side that have started the season slowly. Landskrona managed to hold high-flying Brage to a 1-1 draw last weekend.
The one-time UEFA Cup conquerers of Blackburn Rovers, Trelleborg will be aiming to build on a seventh place finish in the Swedish second-tier from last season. The hosts have begun their 2022 campaign in fairly inconsistent fashion with four victories, two draws and three defeats so far. Kristian Haynes’ side like to play an entertaining brand of football with 29 goals coming in their nine matches so far this season.
Landskrona will be without centre-back Erik Hedenquist after the 23 year-old was sent off in their aforementioned draw with Brage last weekend. The visitors are now on a run of three successive draws and they are unbeaten in six matches since losing their opening three games of the season.
They have also played an entertaining brand of football so far in 2022. Each of those aforementioned three successive draws have consisted of both teams scoring. In fact, both teams have scored six of their nine games.
Given the similar scoring and conceding records of the two teams, this one should be a fairly entertaining encounter on Saturday lunch time. Whilst both teams scoring appears likely, there will be some value in leaning into there being quite a few goals.

AFC Eskilstuna vs Ostersund
🏟
Sunday 28th May – 4:00PM KO
This is the game of the tenth round of Swedish second-tier fixtures that is expected to be the most one-sided between two teams having very different on and off pitch fortunes.
AFC Eskilstuna come into this on the back of a frustrating defeat, though, as they lost 1-0 away at an Orebro side that have found life difficult since their Allsvenskan relegation last season. That makes it three successive defeats and four in five for the hosts aa they move towards the middle-of-the-table. The artist formerly known as AFC United will still be intent on pushing towards the top three and promotion this season.
The visitors have had a messy few years. Ostersund rose to near the top of Swedish football under the management of Graham Potter, winning the cup and even winning at the Emirates against Arsenal in the UEFA Europa League. However, terrible financial mismanagement and off-field issues led to the club’s fairly humiliating relegation last season and that poor form has continued in the second division with several, if not all, of their successful playing squad moved on.
Ostersund did stop the bleeding with a goalless draw at home to bottom-of-the-table OIS last week but they remain second-from-bottom having won just one of their nine matches all season.
Despite a decline in performances and results, Jawad Al Jebouri’s AFC Eskilstuna have remained one of the more entertaining sides in the league. Nobody has scored more than the 20 goals that they have managed so far this season. They need to get back on the winning track and they have the perfect opposition to do it against – especially with home advantage.

Prediction: AFC Eskilstuna to Win, 1.80 on Betfair (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
OIS vs Dalkurd
🏟
Sunday 29th May – 12:00PM KO
Games between two sides gunning for promotion, with plenty of attacking intent and thrust tend to be described as potential ‘thrillers’. Well, this one could not be more opposite to that type of encounter. In fact, both sides head into it thankful they probably won’t get a beating. Perhaps that sense of relief could spark some inhibitions to be lost and goals to be scored.
Orgryte Idrottssallskap, or OIS for short and for the rest of this preview, come into this on the back of a fairly miserable goalless draw away at the team second-from-bottom and just relegated Ostersund. The home team begin this tenth round of fixtures sitting at the bottom-of-the-table and they are the only team to have still not won a single match so far in Sweden’s second-tier.
Dalkurd are the team that sit above the aforementioned Ostersund and OIS. The third-from-bottom club, under the management of Dalibor Savic, have flirted with Superettan relegation fairly regularly. Their status as a second-tier club is a new and unlikely one anyway, following their formation in 2004.
Their club is more symbolic and viewed as a social project so success and failure on the field tends to be greeted with little fanfare – they hold the record for the lowest average attendances in Sweden’s Allsvenskan and Superettan.
That almost apathetic support is sort of represented in their fairly dour style of play. They have managed just six goals so far in the Superettan – no team has scored fewer. The visitors are one of three teams to have scored fewer goals than their upcoming opponents, OIS.
Given those aforementioned poor returns going forward, as well as the general lack of quality likely to be on display, this one won’t is unlikely to be fun for the neutral – or even those that are partisan.

Prediction: Under 2.5 Goals, 2.00 on Betfair (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
Orebro vs Brommapojkarna
🏟
Sunday 29th May – 2:00PM KO
This one should be quite an entertaining affair between two sides that will fancy their chances of sneaking into the promotion spots this season.
Following relegation last season, Orebro began their return to the Swedish second-tier quite slowly but they have come to life ahead of this one. The home team come into this on the back of a slender 1-0 win at home to AFC Eskilstuna last week to make it three victories in their last four matches. That run of form has seen them leap into the top-half of the table ahead of this tenth round of Superettan fixtures.
Brommapojkarna, who played in the UEFA Europa League in 2014 after being relegated from the top-flight due to their impressive fair play record, have fluctuated through the Swedish footballing pyramid. Their promotion from the third-tier last season after winning Division 1 Norra means they have not played in the same league for three successive seasons since they were first formed between 2003 and 2006.A
That inconsistency and fairly exciting history is reflected in their style of play. Under the management of Roberth Bjorknesjo, the visitors have scored 20 goals in nine games so far this season – no team has scored more. They have also conceded 18, though – only three have conceded more.
The underlying data for Orebro proves that their home form especially is expected to be sustained across the season. In fact, the hosts have an expected goals average of 1.5 for home games so far this season.
Given that statistic, as well as the aforementioned excitement pretty much whenever Brommapojkarna play – and the fact they are both looking to push on in the top-half of the table – this should be an entertaining encounter.
