Cheltenham Town v Portsmouth
🏟
Saturday 9th April – 3:00PM KO
We were on both teams to score last weekend as Cheltenham Town played out a thrilling 4-4 draw at Accrington Stanley. The Robins are becoming the most exciting team to follow in League One and that may continue when they welcome Portsmouth to the Jonny Rocks Stadium on Saturday.
Pompey have very little to play for as well, needing to win every remaining match to get within touching distance of the play-offs in what has been a very up and down first full season under Danny Cowley.
Cheltenham have seen both teams score in six of eight and have not kept a clean sheet in their last six. Pompey have struggled a little in front of goal of late, but definitely have the players to turn that around against a team shipping goals consistently. Aiden O’Brien, George Hirst, Michael Jacobs, Marcus Harness, Ronan Curtis and Tyler Walker are all available for selection and are very capable of causing problems. Shaun Williams has also returned from injury in recent weeks.
In a difficult weekend with a lot of teams without much to play for in League One, the Robins will go hell for leather again and with the form of Alfie May at the moment, they should get themselves on the scoresheet.

Rotherham United v Charlton Athletic
🏟
Saturday 9th April – 3:00PM KO
Rotherham United have slipped to third in the table with seven games remaining, two points behind Milton Keynes Dons in second, though the Millers have played two games fewer. Putting a lot of importance on their hosting of Charlton Athletic at the weekend.
The Millers will be refocusing on the league after winning the Papa John’s Trophy last weekend and that tunnel vision should help them in the season’s final stretch.
Charlton will be without Sam Lavelle, whose season has ended due to a dislocated shoulder against AFC Wimbledon in midweek. Ryan Inniss is suspended after his senseless red card in the same game, potentially seeing Jason Pearce return to the centre of the back three, although the club captain was not in the matchday squad in midweek.
The Millers have only conceded 25 goals from 39 league outings this season and have the best attacking process, as per season-long expected goals for. Charlton could be cannon fodder at the New York Stadium, with nothing remaining to play for in the league and a depleted backline. The Addicks were also in action in midweek, where the Millers could prepare solely for this fixture.

Prediction: Rotherham to Win, 1.50 on Betfair (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
Oxford United v Sunderland
🏟
Saturday 9th April – 3:00PM KO
Oxford United host Sunderland in one of the most exciting matches in the EFL this weekend. Karl Robinson’s Yellows are comfortably the highest scorers in League One, but they drew a blank, the only time in their last ten that has occurred, to scupper our both teams to score selection in a 1-0 defeat at Plymouth Argyle last weekend.
A 2-1 loss at Morecambe in midweek followed as Oxford have dropped to eighth in an enthralling play-off race. Sunderland have started to pick up significantly under Alex Neil and they have received fitness boosts with key players Alex Pritchard and Nathan Broadhead this week.
A draw could be classed as a decent result for the Black Cats but Oxford are bound to come out swinging. Sunderland have scored in nine of 11, the hosts have not kept a clean sheet in their last seven and have scored just two from 5.05 expected goals in their last three. A regression to the mean sees an exciting game play out at the Kassam Stadium and an early goal would open this one up enormously with a play-off spot on the line.
