Cardiff Metropolitan University v Flint Town
🏟
Saturday 3rd September – 2:30PM KO
Cardiff Met have been brilliant so far this season, 2nd in the league after 4 games is a huge achievement but completely deserved. With 3 wins from 4 matches, manager Ryan Jenkins will have little to complain about. While their 1 loss was a huge 5-1 battering by Caernarfon, this was very much a one off in an away game at one of the toughest grounds to go to. At home Cardiff Met have been unstoppable. They have played 3 competitive games at home so far this season, winning all 3, scoring 7 and conceding just one. In their last match against Pontypridd United they were sensational again, winning 3-0. Sam Jones, the league’s top scorer scored twice in that match but defensively they were superb as well, allowing Pontypridd just 3 shots.
Flint Town have achieved good results so far as well, also winning 3 of their 4 matches but they have been lucky in a lot of these results. They are yet to really dominate a game and the matches they have won have been very tight affairs where they have converted their chances better than the opposition. While they beat Airbus UK away in their last match, when they travelled to Penybont in the match prior they were completely overpowered and lucky to only lose 2-1 and I expect a similar pattern in this match.

Haverfordwest County v Newtown
🏟
Saturday 3rd September – 2:30PM KO
Haverfordwest have performed as expected so far this season. The Pembrokeshire based team have taken a solid 2 wins and a draw from their opening 4 matches. At home they have been dominant so far and are yet to concede in their first two matches. They play Newtown who picked up their first win of the season in their last match vs Caernarfon at home. Newtown were outplayed in this match and were lucky to get the win and I expect them to continue to struggle on the road in this match. Newtown have lost all 4 of their competitive away games this season, 2 in Europe and 1 in the league and 1 in the cup. They didn’t manage a single shot on target in their only league away match and these poor performances will be a concern for Newtown this season.
Haverfordwest should be more than good enough to beat Newtown and by selecting Haverfordwest double chance, Newtown would have to get their first away win since last season for this to lose, which I don’t see happening.
