NAC Breda v Den Bosch
🏟
Sunday 13th February – 11:15AM KO
NAC can put the focus towards the Eerste Divisie after they were eliminated from the Dutch Cup by PSV.
The Breda side suffered a 4-0 loss, and can now shift their attention to saving their season and establish a playoff spot. They will need to ensure they finish at least 9th, and they are currently in 11th place trailing by five points but have a game in hand. NAC have not been doing well, but they have had some strong opponents lately. They failed to win their last six, however five games were against sides ahead of them. Why are they favourites? They have a good home record. NAC have lost only one league game at home all season and have booked five wins and are nine home games undefeated.
FC Den Bosch are in 14th place, and trail NAC by four points after 25 games. Den Bosch though have lost five straight and eight of their last nine. The Bosschenaren also have the second worst away record with just two wins and eight losses away from home. They have also lost four of their last five.
NAC’s weaknesses so far this season have been a large amount of injuries in the back line and a lack of strikers. Jeredy Hilterman has been bought from FC Emmen, and he scored in the most recent match against Roda and now has nine goals this season. Naoufal Bannis has also joined from Feyenoord. Danny Bakker is the only important player out in defence (19 apps), but all other defenders have recovered by now.
FC Den Bosch have lost Roy Kuijpers and Jizz Hornkamp, but have replaced them with Nikolaj Müller and Torino Hunte, who I do expect to contribute later on in the season, once they find their groove. Barry Maguire is another recent signing who has appeared in both the matches he could have played. He was sent off though against ADO Den Haag and is suspended for this outing.
Personally, I can only see a Breda win in this one.

Jong PSV v Jong Utrecht
🏟
Monday 14th February – 7:00PM KO
It’s a battle between the PSV and Utrecht reserve sides. Jong PSV are doing well and are 9th in the rankings. They have won and lost 10 matches so far. Jong PSV had won four straight before losing 2-0 to Jong Ajax. The youngsters still have an active winning streak at home though, and it could be four straight wins if they beat Jong Utrecht.
Jong Utrecht went scoreless for five straight games and suffered five straight defeats, but managed to beat Helmond Sport 3-2 in their most recent outing. They have lost three of their last four away games though and have won only one in their last eight.
PSV beat NAC 4-0 in the Cup in a midweek fixture. Johan Bakayoko played a few minutes for the first team to reward him for a fantastic season so far and central defender Jenson Seelt was also on the bench. They will surely feature and do well against Jong Utrecht. Emmanuel van de Blaak (11 apps) is doubtful, but Fedde Lysen should do well next to Seelt.
Jong Utrecht’s defence has taken a bit of a hit as Reda Akmum, Christopher Mamengi, Sylvian Mokono and Arthur Zagré are all out. Jong Utrecht can field a defence of course, also with Ruben Kluivert returning but they are far from their ideal line up and I see this as extra cause for a home win.
