Juventus v Venezia
🏟
Sunday 1st May – 11:30AM KO
Relegation is on its way to claim Venezia at the end of this Serie A season and although their falling into Serie B can’t be mathematically confirmed at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday, Juventus can expect to send them ever closer to an immediate return to the second tier.
Although Juventus are winless in their last two home outings in Serie A – they haven’t gone longer without three points at home since September 2015 – the Bianconeri are welcoming the Arancioneroverde who themselves have lost each of their last eight, and are likely to suffer a ninth straight defeat for the first time in a single Serie A season.
Venezia have lost 15 of their last 18 against Juventus as well, and Massimiliano Allegri’s men will want to go one step closer to clinching a top-four finish this season and to secure their place in next season’s Champions League. That, though, cannot be confirmed this weekend.
The Old Lady average 2.4 goals per game when they host Venezia in Turin, having won 10 of the 12 games they’ve played against them there. Allegri will be looking for more of the same on Sunday and it’s hard to look beyond a home win.

AC Milan v Fiorentina
🏟
Sunday 1st May – 2:00PM KO
The Serie A title is back in AC Milan’s hands after Inter’s unexpected slip at Bologna in midweek, but the Rossoneri will have to overcome a tricky Fiorentina coached by Vincenzo Italiano on Sunday to tighten their grip on top spot.
When the two faced off in Florence earlier this season, La Viola came out on top edging a seven-goal thriller, but haven’t won both Serie A games against the Rossoneri since the 2000/01 season. On that occasion they also scored four goals in one, winning 4-0, while the other victory came in the form of a closer 2-1 result.
Vincenzo Italiano has shown in the last two seasons that he knows how to beat Stefano Pioli’s Milan, having also beaten them as Spezia boss in 2020/21. Now he has a chance to deliver a real blow to their title chances.
Fiorentina do, though, tend to leak goals, particularly on the road. Italiano’s Viola have conceded in each of their last 13 away Serie A matches, and have only conceded in 14 straight away games under the same coach twice in their history – in 2001 under Roberto Mancini and in 2020 under Cesare Prandelli. They also shipped four at home to Udinese last time out.
Milan, meanwhile, have bounced back from back-to-back draws with two wins over Genoa and Lazio respectively. They’ll likely threaten, but Italiano and Fiorentina know how to give them problems of their own as well.

Empoli v Torino
🏟
Sunday 1st May – 2:00PM KO
It’s hard to pick a winner with Torino making the trip to Tuscany to take on Empoli at the Stadio Carlo Castellani on Sunday afternoon, but if recent performances are anything to go by then we should be expecting goals to be served up by both sides.
There are a lot of contradictory statistics that suggest the points might well end up being shared between the Azzurri and the Granata, as has been the case in nine of their previous 19 meetings in the top flight.
Torino shared eight goals evenly with Atalanta on Wednesday night, playing out a thrilling draw in Bergamo. Ivan Juric’s side are now unbeaten in their last five and are on their best run this season.
Empoli, for their part, managed a dramatic comeback win over Napoli last time out, ending a 16-match winless run that had stretched back as far as their last meeting with the Partenopei in December 2021. They also managed back-to-back wins that same month, and will be hoping to repeat the trick this time and end Torino’s unbeaten streak.
That win over Napoli last week saw Empoli hit three goals in seven minutes towards the end of the 90, and Toro concede 44 percent of their goals in the final 15 minutes. So this game is likely to have all to play for until the very end.

Udinese v Inter
🏟
Sunday 1st May – 5:00PM KO
A shocking 2-1 loss at Bologna last time out saw Inter’s title chances take their most serious blow this season, and Simone Inzaghi will be determined to see his side bounce back at the first time of asking as they visit Friuli-Venezia Giulia on Sunday.
Inter’s last loss in Serie A came at home to Sassuolo, and they followed that up with back-to-back draws against Genoa and AC Milan, with the latter being in the Coppa Italia. This time, though, they know that they cannot afford another slip and they have to take maximum points from their remaining four games and hope that AC Milan drop at least three points to have a chance at retaining their title.
More than anybody in Italy in the last two years though, Inter have generally shown an ability to perform when it matters, and it’s hard not to trust them to get the job done in Udine, even though the Zebrette will likely make things difficult for their visitors. They drew with AC Milan twice this term, and would love nothing more on Sunday than to frustrate another of Italy’s big sides. They’ve also held both Juventus, Lazio, and Roma at home this season.

Roma v Bologna
🏟
Sunday 1st May – 7:45PM KO
Off the back of Europa Conference League semi-final action, Roma’s attention returns to their domestic duties as they welcome potential kingmakers Bologna to the Stadio Olimpico after the Rossoblu claimed an unlikely win over Inter that could hand the title to AC Milan.
Jose Mourinho’s Giallorossi have had mixed form after European games this season, and domestically they haven’t won in either of their last two – drawing with Napoli late on before losing to Inter. With Leicester visiting the Olimpico next Thursday, the Lupi could be forgiven for having at least half an eye on the visit of the Foxes.
Bologna claimed an unlikely 1-0 win the last time they met this season, and have shown their ability to frustrate the so-called bigger sides again in recent weeks, holding AC Milan to a goalless draw at the Stadio San Siro before frustrating Juventus in Turin, despite ending the game with nine men on that occasion. Now, they travel to the Eternal City hoping for similar heroics.
Impressively, Bologna are unbeaten in their last five Seie A outings, last managing a longer run in April 2012 under Stefano Pioli – going seven without defeat on that occasion.
For Roma, forward Tammy Abraham has struggled for goals lately and hasn’t scored in his last four in Serie A, marking his longest domestic drought for the club.

Atalanta v Salernitana
🏟
Monday 2nd May – 7:45PM KO
Having scored seven goals in just two games in the last week, Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta appear to have rediscovered their old ways ahead of Salernitana’s visit to Bergamo’s Gewiss Stadium on Monday night.
The Campania side can, however, take a lot from the fact that Atalanta conceded five in those same two matches and are as vulnerable as they’ve been defensively this season.
When they met in Salerno earlier this season, Duvan Zapata got the game’s only goal as the newcomers sought to frustrate their visitors, though this time they travel north knowing that they need to take all three points back south with them as they continue their attempt at an unlikely escape from he relegation zone.
Despite having won each of their last three outings, Salernitana will face a stern test in Bergamo and will need to keep Luis Muriel quiet. The Colombian has had a hand in 15 goals in his last 11 against newly-promoted sides – nine goals and six assists – and he’s found form in recent weeks having netted twice in midweek against Torino after scoring one and assisting the other two in their 3-1 win at Venezia last time out.
The Granata will know that La Dea can be sloppy at the back though, and it won’t be a surprise to see both teams involved in the goals on Monday night.
