RB Leipzig v Wolfsburg
🏟
Sunday 23rd January – 2:30PM KO
On Sunday RB Leipzig will be licking their lips at the prospect of welcoming Wolfsburg to their ground in a match that they’ll surely fancy their chances of winning.
The travelling side have been simply appalling for the past two or three months in the Bundesliga and over the course of the last 10 league games, only Greuther Furth have picked up fewer points than Florian Kohfeldt’s crisis-stricken side.
Indeed, Wolfsburg’s draw with Hertha Berlin last weekend brought an end to a torrid six-game losing streak but it’s highly unlikely that they’ll be able to repeat the trick when they make the short trip east to Saxony.
That is partially down to Wolfsburg’s own form, but what won’t help is the fact that RB Leipzig look like a truly rejuvenated side under new head coach Domenico Tedesco. Who has now won his last three games with the Bundesliga side and lost just one of his first six in charge.
Following victories over Mainz, Stuttgart and then Hansa Rostock in the German Cup in midweek, a relatively full strength RB Leipzig side should fancy their chances against Wolfsburg this weekend and all three points for Tedesco’s side is undoubtedly the safest best available.

Hertha Berlin v Bayern Munich
🏟
Sunday 23rd January – 4:30PM KO
Hertha Berlin haven’t enjoyed the best start to 2022 and unfortunately Bayern Munich’s trip to the capital should only compound the dread for Tayfun Korkut and his side with lots of goals.
Indeed, the capital club have managed just one win in their last five games across all competitions and defeats to Mainz and Köln in the Bundesliga as well as a bitter 3-2 derby defeat to Union in the German Cup in midweek suggests that this team are still far from their very best.
Although Hertha have looked somewhat better at home this season, with just four defeats in 10 matches at the Olympiastadion, they’ve still shipped a lot of goals along the way. From those 10 games, they’ve conceded no less than 15.
Bayern, undoubtedly, will be confident of adding to that tally with a relatively full-strength side. Julian Nagelsmann’s team have averaged 3.4 goals in away games in the Bundesliga this season and it’s highly unlikely that this troubled Hertha side will be able to stop that.
While a Bayern win seems certain, we should be able to push this one out a little further and predict a comfortable score line for the reigning German champions against Hertha on Sunday afternoon.
