Swansea do attract a lot of fouls when they play at home, 13.26 per home match, albeit they also concede 12.89 away from home, so they are a regularly fouled team in total. Coventry commit less than 10 fouls per match away from home, albeit that is still two fouls a match more than they do at home.

Goncalo Franco is a key player for Coventry to watch, and he is one of Swansea’s most regularly fouled players. He is averaging 2.1 fouls against per 90 this season, this line has hit in two in Franco’s last four starts, and three in six, and he was fouled twice in another two matches. His current role, and the way Swansea are playing, should see Franco get some attention from his opponents. 

It should also help that Frank Onyeka is in the Coventry side. He has added some physicality and bite to the Sky Blues midfield. Onyeka averages 1.58 fouls per 90, which is the highest average of any Coventry central midfielder, and he has had one match in which he has committed three fouls on his own.

In van Ewijk’s case, he has not been a huge one for fouls throughout his Coventry career so far, but there are a couple of reasons to believe that this line and this price is attainable here.

Firstly, he has fouled twice in his last two matches. Extending the sample size somewhat, he has actually fouled twice in five of his last 10 matches, which does suggest that his price here looks a bit of value. Even in the matches that he hasn't fouled twice, he has fouled once in three of the others in that sample too.

Secondly, there is also the matter of who he will be playing directly up against. It is most likely to be Eom, he is averaging 1.92 fouls against him per 90 this season, and has been fouled twice or more in five of his last 11 starts.

If not Eom then it could be Gustavo Nunes. The Brazilian loanee from Brentford actually has a very similar 1.99 fouls against per 90, but from a much smaller sample size. Either way, these are tricky wingers for van Ewijk to defend against.
