Spurs’ midweek win over Dortmund perhaps provided Thomas Frank a stay of execution. Pressure is mounting on the Dane after just one win in their last seven Premier League games, and this fixture has that sticky look about it.

Burnley haven’t exactly been in inspired form. Their last league win came back in October, but a 2-2 draw with United, followed up by a point at Anfield, will give them some buoyancy heading into this one.

📈 Burnley v Tottenham Form & Tactics

As mentioned, neither side are going into this in the best state, with both fumbling around in search of wins.

The home and away stats make for quite interesting reading. Despite their shortcomings this season, Spurs have actually been the second most productive team on the road this season. 18 of their 27 points have come on their travels. Only Arsenal (21) have taken more points.

As well, they’ve been far more prolific. Spurs have netted 18 times away from home. Only Chelsea and Bournemouth (both 19) can better that.

That being said, a solitary win in their last five away games isn’t a great look, especially when you factor in the calibre of opposition - losses to Forest (3-0) and Bournemouth (3-2) as well as a draw with Brentford (0-0).

As for Burnley, they have been better at Turf Moor with nine of their 14 points coming in front of their own fans. They’ve also managed to keep three clean sheets on their own turf, compared to zero on the road.

Spurs’ midweek win over Dortmund has papered over a few cracks, but that extra energy expenditure isn’t ideal when the struggles in the league have been so prominent, and I can imagine Scott Parker might just smell blood.

📔 Burnley v Tottenham Formation & Team News

With numerous injuries already, it’s hard to see what Spurs change, despite falling to a 2-1 defeat against West Ham last time out.

They’ll stick with their 4-2-3-1. Connor Gallagher will be fresh, having not been in the squad for the midweek Champions League fixture - he should start alongside Archie Gray at the base of the midfield.

Dom Solanke was on the scoresheet against Dortmund and will be pushing for a start over Randal Kolo Muani.

Udogie could come in for Davies after his horror show last week.

Spurs remain without Kudus, Bentancur, Kulusevski, Maddison, Richarlison, and Sarr. They also lost Lucas Bergvall in midweek; he’ll be out for 2-3 months.

Expecting Burnley to stay rigid in their back five and frustrate Spurs where they can.

Burnley also remain at the mercy of a lengthy absentee list with Roberts, Worral, Cullen, Beyer, Tresor, Amdouni, and Flemming all unavailable.
