Forest Green v Mansfield
🏟
Tuesday 18th January – 7:45PM KO
Two of the most in-form teams in League Two locks horns on Tuesday as Forest Green Rovers welcome Mansfield Town to The New Lawn.
Top of the table Rovers were denied a win last time out at Northampton Town by a last-gasp equaliser and will be eager to bounce back with a positive result. Rob Edwards’ side are top of the table, seven points above Tranmere Rovers in 2nd.
The Gloucestershire club are the most prolific side in front of goal in the whole division and have scored 48 goals in all competitions. They haven’t lost since 9th October in a run spanning back 13 matches in the league. Their strikers Jamille Matt and Matty Stevens have scored 15 and 14 goals respectively.
Mansfield are flying at the moment and have been scoring plenty of goals as they have risen into the top seven. Nigel Clough’s side beat Walsall 2-0 on Saturday with two second-half goals from winger Harry Charsley. They have won six games on the spin in the league now and have catapulted themselves from the lower reaches of the table into promotion contention.
Their away form has been strong over recent times and they have won two out of their last three games on the road, which is why I’m backing both teams to score here.

Prediction: Both Teams to Score, 1.87 on Betfair (⭐⭐⭐⭐)
Stevenage v Crawley
🏟
Tuesday 18th January – 7:45PM KO
Stevenage are in action against Crawley Town on Tuesday as the two southern sides battle it out for three points.
Paul Tisdale’s side have been in free scoring form recently and have scored six goals in two games. The Boro beat Walsall 3-1 on the 8th of January before drawing 3-3 against Sutton United at home last time out.
They are fighting for their lives at the bottom end of League Two and have been leaking goals throughout this season meaning Crawley will fancy their chances of finding the net. Stevenage have let in 40 goals during the first-half of this campaign, with only 23rd place Scunthorpe United managing to concede more.
Crawley are in decent form and are unbeaten in their last five league games. John Yems’ side were denied three points against Carlisle United on Saturday with Lewis Alessandra scoring a late equaliser. The Red Devils were left to rue missed chances with Ashley Nadesan missing a penalty in the second-half. They have been strong on the road over recent weeks and have picked up results away at Northampton Town, Leyton Orient and Walsall.
Crawley are only six points off the play-offs and will not want to slip up against relegation-threatened Stevenage.

Port Vale v Salford
🏟
Tuesday 18th January – 7:45PM KO
Port Vale and Salford City are both looking for a bit more consistency in League Two.
The hosts have been leaking goals over recent weeks and have shown that they are vulnerable at the back. They have conceded six in their last three league games and were beaten 3-1 at home to Swindon Town last time out. It hasn’t been the best start to 2022 for Darrell Clarke’s side and they have slipped out of the play-offs. Their first-choice goalkeeper Lucas Colovan is suspended for Tuesday’s clash which is a big blow.
Salford lost 2-1 away at Gary Bowyer’s old club Bradford City on Saturday and will be looking to bounce back. The Ammies are four points behind Vale going into this clash but have lost only two league games out of their last nine. Bowyer has boosted his squad by signing midfield duo Stephen Kelly and Ryan Watson in this transfer window and they will be eager to make an impression.
Scoring goals isn’t a problem for the North-West club and they have scored in every game they have had since 19th October.
Salford have matches coming up against lowly Colchester United and Barrow so will hope a win against Port Vale can start a run of wins to push themselves into the promotion picture.

Prediction: Salford Double Chance, 1.62 on Betfair (⭐⭐⭐)
Sutton v Colchester
🏟
Tuesday 18th January – 7:45PM KO
Sutton United take on a Colchester United side who are nervously looking over their shoulder towards the League Two relegation zone.
The hosts are unbeaten in their last four games in the league and have had a strong first-half of the season. Matt Gray’s side have carried on the momentum of their promotion from the National League this term and are currently 5th in the table.
A win against lowly Colchester could potentially see Sutton rise into the automatic promotion places. Their home form has been good so far in this campaign and they have won their last four matches at Gander Green Lane.
The U’s are in poor form at the moment and are only three points above the drop zone.
Hayden Mullins’ side are the lowest scorers in the division and have managed just 17 goals so far this season. They have scored just one goal in their last five league matches and were beaten 2-0 at home to Barrow last time out.
Colchester haven’t won for seven matches in all competitions now and make the mid-week trip to London low on confidence.
These two played this fixture last month in the Papa John’s Trophy and Sutton won it 2-1.

Prediction: Sutton to Win, 1.8 on Betfair (⭐⭐⭐⭐)
Carlisle v Hartlepool
🏟
Tuesday 18th January – 7:45PM KO
Carlisle United and Hartlepool United battle it out on Tuesday in Cumbria.
The hosts go into the game in decent form under Keith Millen and have risen away from the relegation zone. They have struggled for goals this season in general though and have managed just 19 during the first-half of the campaign. Only 22nd place Colchester United and 24rd place Scunthorpe United have bagged less.
Carlisle’s top scorer is winger Jordan Gibson on five goals, whilst their highest scoring striker is Tristan Abrahams on three. A lack of a cutting edge has been their downfall over recent times and cost former boss Chris Beech his job.
Hartlepool, on the other hand, have had similar woes in front of goal as well recently.
They make the trip to Brunton Park on the back of a disappointing 2-0 loss to Bristol Rovers last time out. The Pools have failed to score in three of their last four league games. Graeme Lee’s side weren’t able to score in recent fixtures against struggling Scunthorpe United and Oldham Athletic so goals may not be aplenty against Carlisle.
Their lack of an attacking prowess has forced them to sign striker Marcus Carver from non-league side Southport in this transfer window. He was substituted off on Saturday.
