Andy Robson is the most popular betting tipster in the UK. With a combined following in excess of 1 million people across his social media channels, Andy has built a loyal audience by consistently providing quality betting content for over nine years. He is the founder of Andy’s Bet Club, which he launched in 2019.

Now, this isn’t going to be a must watch in terms of quality football but what I can almost guarantee you is cards. The two newly promoted sides know this will be a vital match in their bid for Serie A survival and so I’m expecting a feisty encounter in Venice. The hosts have received 5 more yellow cards than any other side in Italy’s top flight with 33 in just 9 matches giving them an average of 3.44 per match while their opponents have a hit rate of 2.22 yellows per game this season and I would suspect that will be higher come full time on Tuesday night.

The referee for the game will be Marco Di Bello, whom has dished out 13 cards in his 3 Serie A fixtures this season (4.33 per game). The experienced Italian has shown at least one card to each team in 19 of his last 20 matches and I think he will have his work cut out to try keep the peace in this basement scrap.

Venezia v Salernitana Bet Builder Tips

Sofian Kiyine to be Booked v Salernitana

The Moroccan international spent the last two seasons on loan to tonight’s opponents Salernitana but expect no love lost between him and his ex teammates. This will be his first match against his old club and I’m sure he won't hesitate to get under the skin of the players he knows all too well.

Kiyine has started 3 of Venezia’s last 4 games and is expected to start again on Tuesday. He has the highest career yellow card per 90 minutes ratio of both teams (0.45) and leads the way in last season’s stats too with an average of 0.66 per 90, meaning he was cautioned in 2 of every 3 full matches played in the 2021/22 campaign! Kiyine will be lining up against his former captain in Francesco Di Tacchio whom has drawn more that 2 fouls per game this season which could be a perfect recipe for another Kiyine yellow card.

Grigoris Kastanos to be Booked v Venezia

Considering how short some of the player card prices are in this game, Grigoris Kastanos presents very good value at 3.6 to be booked. Now, I know he hasn’t been carded at all this season but I always look at historical data first when it comes to player cards and I really fancy the Cypriot to go into the book against Venezia. He has the highest yellows per 90 average of any Salernitana player in both his career (0.36) and last season (0.38), I hate using the expression that he is ‘due’ a card but it looks like a ticking time bomb and stats suggest he is fortunate not to have a couple already with 2.37 fouls conceded per game.

Kastanos has started his last 4 league matches for Salernitana, playing the full 90 in 3 of those so I fully expect him to get a good runout again which is always something to factor in when placing player card bets before confirmed team news. If you look at the card sheet below you’ll also see that the centre midfielder’s potential opponents are likely to be Ethan Ampadu (who knew he was in Italy now?!) and the lunatic Sofian Kiyine, both of whom rank in the top 6 most fouled Venezia players.

Francesco Di Tacchio to be Booked v Venezia

Again, I’m thinking about players who are likely to play the full 90 minutes with these bets and you can near enough guarantee the Salernitana captain will do just that. The midfield general will line up alongside Kastanos in the middle of the park and won’t be afraid to lead form the front and get stuck into their relegation rivals.

Di Tacchio has picked up 11 yellow cards in both his last two domestic seasons but is yet to get off the mark in Serie A which seems surprising when he has committed 9 fouls. His potential opponent is likely to be ex teammate Sofian Kiyine who, as mentioned above, draws plenty of fouls from opposition players.
