1️⃣ Wimbledon Day 5 Super Single

Fixtures for: Friday 4th July

Andrey Rublev v Adrian Mannarino

Wimbledon

11:00

Over 38.5 Games

Whilst it is true that their head-to-head record suggests that Andrey Rublev has taken a liking to Adrian Mannarino's veteran stage game, the current situation that we are evaluating this match in suggests that the Frenchman is being slightly underrated in the market again.

Essentially, what we are backing against here is a comfortable straight sets win for either player. The market is set up to expect a fairly routine Rublev win, but Mannarino should win at least one set here.

Rublev dropped a set in both rounds to get to this stage, and both matches went well into the 40s in terms of the number of games played. Despite a first set 6-0 against Laslo Djere, Rublev is not really the type of player who steamrolls opponents. He isn't dominant enough on serve and doesn't seem to have that killer instinct that produces that type of scoreline.

Despite not being a big server, Rublev has competed in five tiebreaks in his two matches so far. Tiebreak sets are great for overs bets for obvious reasons, 13 games takes us one third of the way to our required total here.

Mannarino himself played 45 games in his four-set victory over Valentin Royer in round two. He is a quality player on grass, even at 37, and one suspects he will find a way to challenge Rublev here.

Fixtures for: Friday 4th July

Mattia Bellucci v Cameron Norrie

Wimbledon

11:00

Cameron Norrie to Win

One can't help but be impressed by Cam Norrie in his opening two rounds of this tournament.

He had a really tough draw, with Roberto Bautista Agut and then Frances Tiafoe, both former Wimbledon semi-finalists, but Norrie himself reached the last four at SW19 in 2022 and he showed a bit of that class, and all of that desire and workrate, to get through those matches, both in four sets.

It is really important for Norrie to keep that up now, even if, on the surface, Bellucci doesn't pose as much of a threat as his previous opponents.

The Italian has had a solid season and comes into this third-round match obviously feeling confident, but Norrie has shown a level this week that is over and above what he has managed for a while. This should hopefully mean that he is super-focused for the tournament as a whole, and if he is, then he should win here.

Elise Mertens v Elina Svitolina

Wimbledon

11:00

Elina Svitolina to Win

As one would expect with both women having won multiple titles and been around the game as long as they have, there is a fairly long history between Mertens and Svitolina.

Sometimes H2H records can be informative, but they have to be taken in context. Svitolina leads 5-3 overall, but this stretches back to 2017. More relevant is the fact that Svitolina beat Mertens on grass in Bad Homburg only a couple of weeks ago, and she also won in a Wimbledon encounter in 2023.

Add this positive form to the Svitolina record at recent Grand Slams, where she rarely seems to underperform her seeding, and we think that her edge in this match is greater than her price suggests.

Dalma Galfi v Amanda Anisimova

Wimbledon

11:00

Amanda Anisimova to Win

We have to be a bit wary of underestimating Dalma Galfi again, but Amanda Anisimova's form is too strong to ignore right now.

The American has long been touted as a potential Grand Slam winner since breaking onto the tour as a teenager, but never has that prediction looked closer to fulfilment than right now.

Anisimova has dropped only six games at this stage of the tournament, so her Wimbledon form is strong; she reached the Queen's Club final, so her recent grass form is good, and she won a big WTA title this season, so her overall year has been strong. Everything is in place.

Galfi did produce some good tennis in defeating Haddad Maia in the last round, but it also has to be said that the Brazilian also produced a bit of a collapse after losing a tight first set.

Kamilla Rakhimova v Linda Noskova

Wimbledon

11:00

Linda Noskova to Win

This addition to the accumulator is based upon Noskova's much greater rating as a grass court player than Rakhimova.

The Russian produced a career-best result to beat last year's finalist Jasmine Paolini in the last round, so we cannot underestimate her, but there is also a difficulty in backing up a result and performance like that as well.

Noskova's game is perfect for grass with her big serve and powerful groundstrokes. Indeed, one could say that she has underachieved on the surface to this point. However, wins over Mirra Andreeva, Donna Vekic, and Alja Tomljanovic in the build-up to Wimbledon demonstrate her ability.
