Wolves might be rock bottom of the league, but they come in as marginal favourites to win at Molineux, priced at 2.60. Leeds are slightly longer odds at 2.87, with the draw coming in at 3.20. Below are my three best bets for the match.

Wolves Double Chance

Wolves are the only Premier League side still yet to post a point on the board this season, but this is the ideal matchup for them to reverse their fortunes and break their duck.

After securing victory in their first game back to the top flight, Leeds failed to win any of their next four matches in all competitions, scoring just one goal in that time. In that run, they were even eliminated by Sheffield Wednesday in a massive EFL Cup upset, after missing all three of their penalties in the shootout.

Rodrigo Gomes to have 1+ Shots on Target

Rodrigo Gomes made his first start of the season for Wolves in the EFL Cup against West Ham, and he marked the occasion with a goal, helping his side progress into the next round.

He then appeared off the bench in the next game against Everton, and once again managed to find the back of the net, registering three shots despite only featuring for a 26-minute cameo.

The wingback was rewarded with a start in the Premier League last time out against Newcastle, and once again landed this bet, again racking up three efforts at goal - with one of those hitting the target.

Jayden Bogle to have 1+ Shots

Focusing on the opposing fullback, Jayden Bogle has been a standout performer for Leeds so far this season. The 25-year-old made 44 starts at the back in the previous campaign for the Peacocks in the Championship, during which he scored six goals, averaging 1.12 shots per 90.

He has maintained that license to get forward this term, and has landed this bet in three out of four league starts. While he does tend to pop up in promising positions in the box, Bogle also fancies himself from distance, and three out of four of his efforts have come from outside the box.

• Leeds have scored just one Premier League goal after four games - only Aston Villa have scored less in the top flight.

• The Peacocks have lost both away games this season in the league by an aggregate score of 6-0.

• Even last season in the Championship, Leeds struggled on the road, failing to win 12 of their 23 league games.

🟡 Pereira’s Side Still Adapting

Wolves made five changes against Newcastle from their starting 11 against Everton, with Ladislav Krejci and Tolu Arokdare making their Premier League debuts. The former slotted into the midfield alongside Andre and Joao Gomes, with Vitor Pereira opting for a slightly different shape to usual.

Additionally, wingbacks Hugo Bueno and Rodrigo Gomes swapped flanks, with the latter forcing an excellent save out of Nick Pope just 10 seconds into the match - almost extending his goalscoring streak. The change made both wide players more willing to cut inside onto their stronger foot, increasing their attacking threat.

Granted, Wolves are still on zero points, but they are still yet to fully integrate their summer signings, and performances in the last few weeks have been better. Vitor Pereira guided Wolves away from any relegation dogfight last season when he took charge, and will be hopeful he can repeat that feat this term.

Struggles in the Final Third Persist

Having been shut out by Fulham at Craven Cottage in a 1-0 loss last time out, Leeds have now failed to score in their last three Premier League games. Worryingly, their only goal of the campaign came from the penalty spot on the opening weekend, meaning the Peacocks are still yet to score from open play in the top flight.

Even in the EFL Cup, Leeds managed to score just once against Sheffield Wednesday, despite accumulating a total of 25 shots and eight big chances. That game eventually went to a penalty shootout, and Leeds were eliminated after Joel Piroe, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Sean Longstaff all failed to convert from the spot.

After being released by Everton, Calvert-Lewin has struggled so far this season, and missed another big chance against Fulham last time out. Leeds are really lacking a clinical finisher up front, and that could really hurt them this season.

📊 Wolves v Leeds H2H

The last meeting between these two sides came back in 2023, when Leeds won 4-2 at Molineux.

Prior to that, however, Wolves have fared well against Leeds, winning six of the last 10 head-to-head tussles in all competitions.
