📈 Wolves v Nottingham Forest Form & Stats

Nottingham Forest were halted in their tracks at the weekend, as their three game winning streak was abruptly ended by Brighton. While they did manage 19 shots at the City Ground, they were largely of a speculative nature, amounting to just 0.89xG. Brighton had a lower shots tally, but more than doubled Forest’s xG.

However, the Tricky Trees had pulled off some impressive victories before that, including a 3-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield. They were much more ruthless on the break against the Reds, with seven of their 15 shots hitting the target. Forest have undoubtedly made improvements under Sean Dyche, who has lifted them out of the relegation zone whilst simultaneously improving their Europa League prospects.

Meanwhile, Wolves remain stuck on two points in the Premier League, with just seven goals scored and 28 conceded after 13 matches. That ranks them as the worst defensive and attacking unit in the English top flight this season. However, the xG table depicts a different story, as they have shipped 28 goals from just 18.2xG. Six other Premier League teams, including Man United, have conceded more xG, highlighting how Wolves have been slightly unfortunate in that regard.

📔 Wolves v Nottingham Forest Formation & Team News

Rob Edwards made a few changes against Aston Villa, bringing in Jhon Arias and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde in place of Marshall Munetsi and Tolu Arokdare, which brought about the change to a 5-2-3 formation.

Ladislav Krejci was also missing from the matchday squad due to a knee injury, so is doubtful to feature midweek. Jackson Tchatchoua had a greater attacking responsibility against Aston Villa, looking to use his pace in behind to cause problems. He provided the assist for Jorgen Strand Larsen early on, which was eventually ruled out.

Morgan Gibbs-White was replaced late on against Brighton, but Sean Dyche has downplayed any serious injury concerns, and the Englishman will hope to feature against his former club. Dyche had to deal with an extensive injury list against Brighton, but is hopeful that Murillo can return to his regular starting spot.

Callum Hudson-Odoi will also be hoping to make his first Premier League start since the start of November in place of Nicolas Dominguez on the left-wing.
