With the end of the club football season fast approaching, Euro 2024 is just around the corner. As ever, we will be all over the tournament here on Andy’s Bet Club, providing you with everything you need for a profitable month of top-quality football.
As ever, we will have our famous Cheat Sheet tool ready to go for every one of the 51 games to be played in Germany this summer, along with our expertly-crafted bet builders to help you find the value from the group stages to the final on July 14, as well as countless other Euro 2024 tips.
Underdog stories are what everyone loves to see at these tournaments, and as we demonstrated during the 2022 World Cup, backing a longshot can be lucrative. Portugal may be heavy favourites to win Group F but the rest of the group is up in the air and could provide a nice jumping off point for a nation to shock the continent, much as Denmark did in 2021 with their run to the semi-finals.
If you find a longshot an intriguing prospect, our dark horse and longshot tips can help you navigate the underdogs and find value in a crowded field.
Another beneficiary of a weak qualifying group, Czechia finished second behind Albania on head-to-head record alone, having lost 3-0 in Tirana and managing only to draw 1-1 in Prague.
Group E was so weak that a Moldovan side ranked 174th in the world prior to the qualifying campaign finished with 10 points and was in with a genuine shot at automatic qualification to this tournament until the final matchday.
Ultimately though Czechia won out and now feature in their eighth-straight European Championships, having qualified for every edition since their split of Czechoslovakia. They have been fortunate once again with the draw, running into the lowest-ranked side in the tournament in Georgia, and a Turkey side which went winless through the group stage at the 2020 Euros.
Czechia are third-favourites to qualify for the knockout stages at 1.53, which seems fair considering Turkey’s much tougher path to qualification and generally better squad of players. Unlike previous squads, this Czech side has a real dearth of star players, with West Ham’s Tomas Soucek top scoring in qualifying with just three goals.
In terms of players to watch in bet builder markets this summer, David Jurásek is worth some consideration in the assist markets. His 47 crosses was enough to situate him in the top 10 for total crosses amongst all nations in qualifying, despite playing just five of Czechia’s eight games. With striker Patrik Schick back fit for the tournament, and known for his aerial ability, Jurásek’s crossing could bag him an assist, especially against teams that struggle in the air.
Adam Hložek may have failed to get a goal during qualifying, but the Czech forward should benefit from partnering Patrik Schick, his Leverkusen club mate here. Hložek had more shots than any other Czech player during qualifying, his 19 shots meaning he had 3.58 shots per 90 and making him one to watch in the shots markets.
