Saturday’s 100/1+ Mega Accumulator Tips
Bayern look an excellent price against Mainz to pick up 3 points in an entertaining Bundesliga match.
Vincent Kompany’s side have scored 41 goals in 13 matches already this season, averaging 3.15 per game, and though they will come up against one of the sternest defences in the Bundesliga, FCB go into the game having rediscovered their best level in front of goal by netting 9 across fixtures against Heidenheim and Shakhtar.
But Kompany’s side have also conceded in each of their last 4, suggesting that they will need to score at least twice to win this match. This is especially the case given that Mainz have scored 11 goals in their last 4 outings.
Bayern, though, will travel with confidence. Fuelled by a treble from Jamal Musiala, they have already won 4-0 in Mainz earlier this season while each of the last 7 head-to-head fixtures between these clubs has produced at least 4 goals. Last season, the Bavarians claimed a 3-1 win at the MEWA Arena before romping to an 8-1 home success, with Harry Kane grabbing a hat-trick in that latter match.
Off the back of a blistering start to the season, Liverpool are liable to claim all 3 points against Fulham, but though Arne Slot’s side have a formidable defensive record at Anfield this season, back the Cottagers to get on the scoresheet.
The Reds have only failed to win 3 of their 22 competitive games this season and it would be a mammoth shock if Fulham were to follow Nottingham Forest and inflict a home loss upon the Premier League leaders. But they can find the net.
For a start, Liverpool have not been particularly robust defensively in recent weeks. Although they have kept 5 clean sheets in their last 7, Slot’s side have conceded 1.2xGA or greater in 6 of these fixtures (Manchester City was the exception).
Fulham, meanwhile, are a team to be respected for their attacking qualities. After all, they have scored in every single match they have played this season with the exception of their opening day loss away to Manchester United. They scored against Arsenal last weekend in a 1-1 draw and will have belief they can do likewise on Merseyside.
Relegation battles are generally characterised as stuffy, defensive affairs, yet neither of these teams is particularly good at the back, which suggests that this could be a very different game from the stereotype.
Wolves simply don’t do low-scoring matches. Across their last 13 games in all competitions, 12 have produced at least 3 goals while the other was a 2-0 victory over Southampton around a month ago. While they have proven themselves to be capable going forward, recently scoring at least 2 goals in 5 straight matches, they have been a disaster at the back and have conceded 2 or more in 11 of 13.
Even the threat of manager Gary O’Neil losing his job has not brought a change of approach, with goals still flowing at either end of the park.
Ipswich, meanwhile, have conceded in 11 successive matches and have actually been poorer defensively than that would suggest. Although they have leaked 7 goals across their last 6, they have allowed a very significant 10.2xGA in these games. There will be opportunities for Wolves, in other words.
The Suffolk side are on a run in which 3 of their last 4 away games have produced at least 3 goals.
Queen of the South are an excellent price to record a home win against Scottish League One leaders Stenhousemuir in a clash between two sides that fair best on familiar ground.
Queens may sit seventh in the 10-team league, yet purely based on home results they are the second strongest team behind their guests. Across their 7 home matches to date this season, they have picked up victories in 5. In one of the exceptions, they were quite literally hamstrung as 3 players pulled up injured in the first half of the game.
Stenhousemuir are not stellar away from home either. Across their 8 away matches, they have picked up victories in only 2 and in these games they have scored 6 of the 7 goals they have managed on the road in the league.
Following a scoreless draw between the clubs in September – 1 of just 2 occasions the Warriors have failed to win at home – Queen of the South are well placed to continue their excellent form at Palmerston by winning this encounter.
Elgin City are an excellent price at home against Stirling Albion on Saturday, particularly when combined with Over 2.5 goals.
The Black and Whites are a formidable home side. They have picked up 4 successive victories at Borough Briggs while overall in the league this season, they are undefeated in their 6 home matches. These have produced a total of 21 goals, 3.5 on average.
Stirling, meanwhile, travel having been in turgid form lately and struggling particularly for any type of defensive solidarity. The Binos have lost 5 successive games (1 on penalties in the Scottish Cup) and have conceded 14 times across these matches. Meanwhile, 8 of their last 9 matches across all competitions have brought at least three goals.
There appears to be little optimism that things will get much better for Alan Maybury’s side prior to the January transfer window, with the whole spine of the team looking weak.
Indeed, Stirling have taken just 1 point from their 5 matches against the top 3 clubs in the league and are unlikely to add to that tally when they make the long journey north at the weekend.
Look for a Real Madrid side that has found its shooting boots once again to record a high-scoring win over Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.
Kylian Mbappe is liable to miss out injured for Carlo Ancelotti’s side in this encounter but this could actually be a positive side, allowing them to rediscover some of the balance they have lost since the Frenchman came into the side. Certainly, his hamstring problem did not stop them from recording a 3-2 win away to Atalanta in midweek.
That was the ninth game in Real Madrid’s last 11 that has produced 3 or more goals while it was also a second consecutive road trip in which the Bernabeu side have scored exactly 3 goal.
Vallecano are capable of finding the net. The home side have scored in each home match they have played this season but have suffered successive defeats at the Estadio de Vallecas to Athletic Club and Las Palmas, while Real Madrid are likely to prove simply too strong for them.
Rayo actually pinched a couple of draws against Los Blancos last season, but in this derby match expect Ancelotti’s side to right that wrong.
