Mainz absolutely battered Paderborn in the corner count in their opening game, winning 11-2. They also averaged 5.06 corners per match last season, compared to Hamburg’s 3.68.

This leg is less about Mainz being strong and more about how poor Hamburg are in this department. They lost the corner battle in their first game against Dortmund, registering just one corner.

Last season they were just as poor, finishing bottom of the Bundesliga for corners won, only winning the corner battle seven times of their 34 league games.

When the two sides met last season, Mainz had the most corners in both games, winning the count 4-1 and 7-2.

Both sides landed BTTS in their previous league game.

Strasbourg have been very weak defensively, conceding in 18 of their last 20 league games, including both of their games this season. They also landed BTTS in each of their final five games last season, with only a demolition job from Marseille on the opening day breaking that streak.

Newly promoted Troyes will be looking to continue their winning ways in their new league after gaining promotion last season. They drew their only home game this season 0-0, but I expect them to come out stronger here after scoring twice against Lorient.

Last season, Strasbourg’s away games landed BTTS 76% of the time, with them averaging 1.65 goals scored and conceded per game.

I can see Troyes seeing an opportunity to get at this Strasbourg defence and give their home fans something to cheer about.

Barcelona are flying in La Liga this season, with a flawless record seeing them top of the table. They have scored the most goals in the league this season, with 12, averaging four goals per match.

Valencia, on the other hand, have had a slower start. They are currently winless and sitting joint-bottom of the table, having conceded four goals across their three games.

Barcelona have scored two or more goals in every game this season, and I don't expect them to slow down anytime soon.

Put simply, Barcelona should be way too strong for Valencia to cause any form of upset. I can see this being a high scoring affair for the away side.

Both sides have been two or more goals in each game they have played this season, including cup fixtures.

This is also a fixture that tends to produce goals. Since 2016, only three of their 24 meetings have seen fewer than two goals scored. That’s mental.

Both sides look a bit suspect at the back too, especially United, who have conceded twice against both Hull and Ipswich. Everton are a lot better at home though, and have scored in each of their last six league games there.

United are also coming off the back of scoring five against Ipswich, so they'll be feeling confident going forward. I can see this game following suit and producing at least two goals.
