Both sides sit on three points after four games and are outside the relegation zone on goal difference.

Both have scored more than one goal per game so far, with Cardiff stepping up well, after winning promotion last season, in the final third in particular.

This bet has won in 6/6 Cardiff games this season and 4/5 of Pompey’s in all competitions.

Pompey lost 2-0 at home to Derby on Tuesday night, but they have a preparation advantage over Cardiff as the Welsh side were beaten 2-1 at QPR on Wednesday night - more travel time and less turnaround time for this match.

Roberto De Zerbi's style of football lends itself towards the goals, and Tottenham should break their goal drought at the City Ground on Saturday.

There were positives to take, in the first half especially, of their 2-0 defeat at home to Newcastle last time out - winning the xG battle 1.12-0.72 in that game despite the loss.

Nottingham Forest have conceded in all three of their 2026/27 games so far, and played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Liverpool last weekend.

Forest have won four in a row against Spurs in the Premier League and will fancy their chances of continuing that streak, but I don't think they'll keep the back door closed.

Middlesbrough have seen both teams score in all four of their Championship outings so far this season.

They’ve looked mightily impressive in the final third at times, adding some cutting edge, that they were lacking last season, in Will Lankshear - who's joint-top scorer in the division alongside Southampton’s Cyle Larin at this early stage.

QPR have seen BTTS land in 4/5 games so far this term, and they take a preparation advantage into this game having won 2-1 at home to Cardiff on Wednesday, where Middlesbrough had to travel to Burnley (1-1).

There were exactly four goals in each meeting between these sides last season.

Norwich created plenty of chances to score in their 1-0 defeat at Stoke on Tuesday night, and this trip to Bramall Lane could be something of a redemption game following that frustrating evening.

They won the xG battle 1.44-0.58 at Stoke, conceding a deflected shot from range, and Andre Brooks missed a 0.61 xG chance in the first half.

Norwich had scored six goals in two games heading into the midweek slate, where Sheffield United found their shooting boots.

Blades beat Bolton 3-2, scoring two goals or more in back-to-back games, but they’d have been disappointed with their defensive display - conceding twice and allowing a newly-promoted side 1.91 xG on their patch.

Barnet are the 2nd-top scorers in League Two after four games, scoring nine, and they visit a Chesterfield side who should benefit from playing twice at home this week compared to the visitors’ double away week.

Both sides saw BTTS land in midweek, Barnet had a long trip down to Exeter, and Chesterfield hosted Gillingham - both games ended 1-1.

Barnet have seen BTTS land in 6/6 competitive games this season, while Chesterfield have seen the bet win in each of their last two.

Across the 11-game combined sample of these two sides’ fixtures so far this season, they’ve managed only one clean sheet between them.

Both meetings between these sides ended 2-2 last season.

With BTTS landing after 31 and then 11 minutes, the first meeting between them this term should bring entertainment.

Ajax have scored four or more goals in each of their last three games, while PSV (favourites coming into this) have scored five or more in their last two games.

BTTS has landed in each of the visitors’ last four, and they can’t reach the top of the table this weekend unless they win in Amsterdam.

Ajax have scored two or more goals in all three of their home games so far this season, this could be one of the standout games of the weekend for goals.
