With 14 goals conceded from their five Champions League games so far, the Eagles have been far from watertight at the back, and they have failed to win any of their last four European outings. Frankfurt’s draw at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium was an impressive one on paper, but they were incredibly fortunate to walk away with a point against Napoli. These are two of the most attacking sides in Europe, so it’s hard to see how we get a low goal count in this clash. Frankfurt have seen 20 goals across their five matches in the league phase so far this campaign (4.0 per game), but their attacking approach hasn’t been that effective with just one win from those games.

Barcelona’s approach is also very risky, and has caused them problems in the Champions League with just two wins from their five matches. They’ve seen 22 goals across their five games (4.4 per game) and have seen BTTS in four of their five Champions League matches, only failing to score against Chelsea, which is a very rare occurrence for this Barcelona side.

Hansi Flick’s side have seen BTTS in each of their three matches since that 3-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. They’ve managed to come out on top in all three of those games, offering a potential angle for BTTS and Barcelona to win in this Champions League clash.

Following his hat-trick at the weekend, Ferran Torres has leapfrogged Robert Lewandowski, Vedat Muriqi and Julian Alvarez in the La Liga top goalscorer charts, and will have his sights set on catching Kylian Mbappe. The 25-year-old has been in stellar form this season and has scored 13 goals from his 19 appearances across all competitions. The former Man City man is well on track to have his most prolific campaign to date - last season, he managed 19 goals from 45 appearances, but is well on track to better that tally.

Torres has really levelled up his game under Hansi Flick, and will hope to establish himself as the main candidate to lead the line for Barcelona going forward. He had five shots against Real Betis, all of which hit the target, highlighting the quality positions he is able to find himself in.

Lamine Yamal started in the number 10 position at the Benito Villamarin Stadium on Saturday, and was a standout performer. He completed the most dribbles on the pitch and drew a total of six fouls. The 18-year-old is likely to return to his familiar position out on the right against Frankfurt, with Raphinha and potentially Fermin Lopez coming into the XI. 

Because of that, Nathaniel Brown will likely have the tough task of trying to contain Yamal, and could be in for a long night. Yamal is averaging 2.33 fouls drawn per 90 in all competitions this season, rising to 3.22 when playing in the Champions League. The winger was fouled four times against Chelsea, with Marc Cucurella racking up four fouls from left back, meaning Yamal has drawn at least two infringements in all four of his European appearances this term.
