Achraf Hakimi to be Fouled 1+ Times

When these sides faced each other in the Champions League group stage back in October, Hakimi was fouled four times, more than any other player on the pitch. The right back consistently drew challenges from opponents, highlighting his ability to disrupt defensive lines. His performance in that match demonstrated his knack for winning fouls, a trait that could prove crucial in this encounter.

Across the 24/25 Champions League campaign, Hakimi won 23 fouls in 17 appearances, averaging 1.34 per 90 minutes. In Ligue 1, he maintained a solid average of 1.09 fouls won per 90 during the same season. These statistics underline his effectiveness in drawing fouls, a skill that often provides his team with valuable set piece opportunities.

Hakimi’s numbers over the season are particularly encouraging, and his display against the Bundesliga champions earlier in the campaign suggests he’ll be heavily involved again here. His ability to draw fouls could be a key factor in breaking down the opposition’s defence. Expect him to be at the heart of the action once more.

Bayern Munich Over 1.5 Cards

Bayern Munich were shown five yellow cards in their 4-2 win over Flamengo in the round of 16 with three of those cautions coming in the frenzied last 10 minutes of the game as the Brazilian side threatened a comeback. We can expect Bayern to catch the eye of the referee again here, especially seeing as they are set to struggle to compete with PSG’s effective attacking line and energetic midfield trio.

Bayern picked up 48 yellow cards across their 34 Bundesliga matches during the 24/25 season (1.41 per 90). They also averaged 1.5 cards per game in the Champions League during the most recent campaign. Bayern were shown three yellow cards in their 1-0 win over PSG in the league phase of the Champions League back in October - Vincent Kompany’s side committed 13 fouls on that occasion.

PSG Double Chance

It is hard to look past this PSG side following their performances en route to lifting the Champions League trophy, a quality they’ve managed to maintain in this competition with convincing victories over Atletico Madrid and Inter Miami. PSG hold two main advantages over Bayern, the most glaring issue for the Bundesliga champions is their backline which has looked a little unorganised in the absence of Kim Min Jae and Alphonso Davies. Kim was fit enough to be on the bench last time out but is still unlikely to be fit enough to play from the start here.

PSG’s frontline of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele can really hurt this Bayern backline, which was caught out twice in their 4-2 victory over Flamengo but a more clinical side, as PSG are, would have taken advantage of the chances that Bayern gave up in the game.

The other advantage that PSG are expected to have in this quarter-final tie is in the middle of the park, Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka struggled in moments of transition against Flamengo, and that issue should be exacerbated by a PSG side who are excellent at reacting when the ball changes feet.

Harry Kane to Score Anytime

Harry Kane has found his rhythm at the Club World Cup, scoring a brace against Flamengo in the last match to send Bayern Munich through to the quarter-finals. He has now netted three goals in the tournament, having also found the back of the net against Boca Juniors in the group stage. This form suggests he is peaking at the right time for the German giants.

During the 24/25 regular season, Kane scored 38 goals in 46 appearances for Bayern Munich. His ability to deliver when it matters most makes him a constant danger for opposition defences. Additionally, as Bayern’s designated penalty-taker, he has another avenue to add to his goal tally.

Kane’s clinical finishing and experience in big games make him a key player for Bayern in this competition. His recent performances indicate he will be central to their hopes of lifting the trophy.

Dayot Upamecano to be Shown a Card

Dayot Upamecano is expected to partner Jonathan Tah here who recently joined Bayern Munich from Bayer Leverkusen and has been settling into the squad during the Club World Cup. Upamecano has a reputation for being quite clumsy at times and could be really tested by Ousmane Dembele, who has returned to fitness at a crucial time for the Parisians.

Upamecano received six yellow cards across his 20 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern during the 24/25 season - only Konrad Laimer (eight) picked up more cautions than Upamecano during the most recent Bundesliga campaign. Upamecano averaged just over a foul per game across these appearances; his direct opponent, Dembele, won 13 fouls across his 13 starts in the Champions League during the 24/25 campaign (1.01 per 90).

We can expect Upamecano to struggle with the quality of PSG’s frontline and pick up his first yellow card at the Club World Cup, having picked up the 2nd-most in the entire squad during the 24/25 Bundesliga campaign.

Over 2.5 Goals

This game promises goals, Bayern saw six goals as they battled past Flamengo in the round of 16 while PSG’s last 16 outing was more one-sided but still managed to produce four goals for the Parisians. Bayern have seen over 2.5 goals in three of their four games at the Club World Cup so far and may have to breach the PSG backline more than once here if they want to progress, seeing as how vulnerable their defensive setup currently is.

PSG have seen over 2.5 goals in two of their four games at the Club World Cup so far against Atletico Madrid and Inter Miami. PSG have the scoring power to cover this line themselves if they can truly punish the inconsistencies across the Bayern Munich backline.
