It’s a must-win game for Monaco as they face an awkward assignment in Norway on Tuesday evening. The visitors have acquired just two points from their opening three Champions League games.

Bodo Glimt will be hoping to make their astroturf pitch a fortress after giving Spurs a few headaches last month. Despite some promising performances, Bodo Glimt also sit on two points after three games. Both sides will be desperate for the three points here.

Our Football Match Stats provide strong insight into midweek games.

Bodo/Glimt Double Chance

Bodo Glimt’s home stadium and astroturf is a real advantage in European football; opposition teams often struggle to adjust, and this can leave them under large amounts of pressure in the early periods of matches. Tottenham discovered this last month; they struggled to get out of their half and were suffocated for extended spells in the first half.

The hosts are relentless at home; they’ve scored a whopping 40 goals across 13 league games this season. Bodo Glimt’s run to the Semi-Final of the Europa League last season was largely testament to their home form.

Monaco have only managed two wins in six away matches so far this season, both of them coming in the league. A key concern will be their Champions League defeat to Club Brugge, where they were thoroughly well beaten, losing the game 4-1 while conceding 26 shots and a hefty 3.15 xG.

Over 3.5 Bodo/Glimt Corners

As previously touched upon, the hosts are very effective at maintaining territory and keeping opposition teams under pressure; that territorial advantage is often conducive to getting corners. The home side are also very trigger-happy when shooting, and this can increase the likelihood of corners. Bodo Glimt are currently averaging 7.61 corners per home game this season.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Monaco pegged back deep in the first 15 minutes of the game; it might be a struggle to find an out ball and get higher up the pitch. In Monaco’s six away games this season, they’ve conceded 30 corners, which works out at an average of five conceded a game. Bodo Glimt scoring an early goal might be the major risk here; it could prompt them to take their foot off the pedal and play in a more pragmatic manner.

📈 Bodo/Glimt v Monaco Form & Stats

While the hosts may have endured a mediocre start to the Champions League campaign with two draws and one defeat, they’ve been anything but ordinary in their domestic league; they currently sit 2nd in the league. Bodo Glimt are prolific in front of goal, scoring 73 times across 27 league games, with 40 of those goals coming on home soil.

Before Saturday afternoon, Bodo/Glimt were unbeaten in sixteen league games; the unbeaten run came to an end against Valerenga, where they were beaten 3-1. The underlying data suggests Bodo Glimt are ruthlessly efficient finishers. According to FootyStats, they’re overperforming their expected goals by 14.41 goals.

The Champions League has posed a real challenge for Monaco so far. Despite two very credible draws against Spurs and Man City, they were completely dismantled and lost to Club Brugge 4-1 away from home.

It’s been a promising start to Monaco’s season after managing to keep up pace with PSG for most of the season so far, but a damaging defeat at home to Paris FC at the weekend has seen them go from 2nd place to 5th place in the league. They currently sit four points behind league leaders PSG. Monaco have managed six points from their last three league games, with their overall Ligue 1 record being six wins, two draws, and three defeats.

The underlying xG data suggests Monaco are relatively good value for their xPTS and position in the league, with a very slight underperformance on goals conceded
