📈 Bournemouth v West Ham Form & Stats

After a stellar start to the Premier League season, Bournemouth were dealt a bit of a reality check before the international break, as they suffered back-to-back losses against Man City and Aston Villa, by an aggregate score of 7-1.

They were slightly unfortunate against Aston Villa last time out, as they conceded four goals from 1.7xG, while racking up 1.61xG in return to no avail. Antoine Semenyo was responsible for missing a penalty, while Evanilson also struggled on his first game back from injury. Prior to that, they were picked apart by Man City, and Erling Haaland in particular, who exploited the Cherries’ high line.

For West Ham, it has been almost the complete opposite. They won just one of their opening nine Premier League matches, but did build a bit of momentum just before the international break. They beat both Newcastle and Burnley, but that was still not enough to lift them out of the relegation zone.

Both of those victories came at the London Stadium, where West Ham have generally performed worse. Last season, they won just five of their 19 home games - only the three relegated sides accumulated less points on home turf than West Ham. However, Nuno Espirito Santo will hope to reverse that trend.

📔 Bournemouth v West Ham Formation & Team News

Semenyo was withdrawn early from the Ghana squad, but downplayed any injury concerns and should be set to start on the flank. Evanilson made his first start since returning from injury just before the international break, which should see Eli Kroupi benched once again.

Alex Scott recently received his first international call-up for England, rewarded for being a consistent performer in midfield this season. He has formed a solid partnership with Tyler Adams, and those two should once again comprise the double pivot. After suffering a nasty head injury against Aston Villa, Adam Smith should be available to start.

The main concern for West Ham is that Lucas Paqueta will be suspended for this clash after picking up his fifth yellow of the season. Tomas Soucek has scored in back-to-back games despite only featuring off the bench, and seems to be the prime candidate to deputise for the Brazilian.

Matheus Fernandes has brought fresh energy to the Hammers’ midfield, so should feature alongside Soucek, while Callum Wilson should retain his starting spot after scoring against Burnley last time out.
