Olise has had nine shots on target across his nine Champions League appearances this season (1.34 per 90) resulting in five goals for the former Crystal Palace winger.

He was a constant threat in the first leg and scored Bayern’s opener with a spectacular finish after a long ball from Dayot Upamencano. He also found the target for a second time at Celtic Park, further emphasising the threat he can pose Celtic here.

Callum McGregor sits at the heart of Celtic’s midfield, he was forced into making one foul in the first leg meeting between these sides and is quite generously priced to replicate that at the Allianz Arena.

McGregor will be up against Jamal Musiala who was fouled twice in the first leg meeting at Celtic Park. Musiala has won 14 fouls across his nine Champions League appearances this campaign (2.11 per 90), a record that is likely to test McGregor on a few occasions as proved true in the first leg.

Celtic have been pretty reliable when it comes to corners in the Champions League this season, they’ve seen over this line in each of their nine games in the competition so far. This run includes trips to Dortmund, Atalanta and Aston Villa showing that their corner count usually stays pretty consistent even in the face of elite competition.

Celtic managed seven corners in the first leg meeting at Celtic Park, this record was as a result of Celtic getting joy in wide attacking areas when they were able to break forward in transition. Brendan Rodgers will likely employ a similar approach to this game with Celtic needing a goal to get back into the tie.

Bayern’s main weakness is in these fullback areas, an injury to Alphonso Davies and the lack of a long term established right back has meant that Bayern have struggled to contain the opposition in these areas. This is something that Celtic can exploit which should see their strong corner record in the Champions League continue.

Bayern are rightly heavy favourites to come out on top here and progress through to the round of 16. Bayern have won all four of their Champions League games on home ground this season. This record is supported by the fact that Bayern have won ten of their eleven home games in the Bundesliga this season, scoring 37 goals in the process.

It is this goalscoring power that should set Bayern Munich apart here, their defensive setup can be exposed at times as shown by the fact they’ve only kept two clean sheets across their last five games in all competitions but they can outscore the majority of sides in this competition which should ensure a relatively straightforward victory to progress to the next stage of the Champions League.

Maeda scored the goal to give Celtic a slim chance of qualifying for the next round of the competition from close range with Celtic having another goal disallowed early on in the fixture proving that Celtic can still offer an attacking threat against the German giants, particularly in the wide areas where Bayern can be vulnerable.

The winger had two shots in total in the first leg and is averaging 1.74 shots per 90 across his eight appearances in Europe this campaign. Celtic will need a goal to find their way back into this tie and had nine attempts in the first leg at Celtic Park, we can expect a similar level of threat from Celtic here with Maeda in pole position to get a few shots off on goal.

Maeda is averaging 1.97 shots per 90 across his 23 Scottish Premiership appearances this season, whilst this is quite a drop off from the quality he’ll be faced with in the Champions League, it does show that the winger can match the shot output he managed in the first leg meeting.

This hasn’t been the most standout element of Celtic’s Champions League campaign so far but a trip to the Allianz Arena could very well bring about a marked increase in the number of cautions shown to Celtic, especially when considering the context of the game.

The picture is slightly different here however, in the majority of Celtic’s Champions League away ties they’ve looked to sit off the opposition and not directly engage with them in reverting to a mid-low block whenever possible.

At some point in this game, Celtic will have to break out of this shape. It may not be obvious in the early knockings of this game as there is only one goal in it but as the game progresses expect Celtic to be a bit more adventurous which should result in challenges to stop Bayern breaking on them in the transition forcing the referee to produce at least three cards in their direction.

Kane has scored six goals across his last seven games across all competitions meaning that the 31 year old enters this encounter in promising form which he can build on. Bayern can be a ruthless attacking force, this wasn’t quite on show in the first leg but is evidenced by the fact that Vincent Kompany’s side have scored 14 goals across their four Champions League home games this season.

Kane is far and away Bayern’s top goalscorer in both the Bundesliga and Champions League this season and can add to his promising record here against a side he already found the back of the net against just a week ago. He’s also on penalties for Bayern offering another route to goal for the veteran centre forward.

It’s really difficult to make a case for Celtic coming away with anything from the Allianz Arena in this second leg tie. Bayern Munich have won all four of their Champions League games at home this season, scoring 14 goals and only conceding 3.

Bayern’s victories have been convincing in each of these games, even if the scoreline doesn’t back up that claim. They’ve generated an xG of 23.2 in the Champions League this campaign which is the highest of any side in the competition, suggesting that they can create chances with ease and regularity, something that Celtic don’t have as shown by their inferior xG of 13.4 in Europe this campaign.

Bayern have one of the most potent attacking lines in the Champions League and could very quickly run away with their tie if their attacking players are on form which should result in Vincent Kompany’s side winning this game by at least a two goal margin.
