📈 Celtic v Dunfermline Form, Stats & Team News

Having trailed Hearts for much of the season, Celtic reached the summit of the Scottish Premiership when it mattered most by defeating Derek McInnes’ men 3-1 in dramatic fashion last weekend. That victory was Celtic’s seventh straight win in the Scottish top-flight and secured a fifth successive league title.

Attention now turns to the Scottish Cup final as Martin O’Neill’s side look to complete a domestic double. Celtic reached this year’s Hampden showpiece by seeing off Auchinleck Talbot, Dundee and St Mirren. However, it is worth noting that the Hoops required extra time to overcome both Dundee and St Mirren in the previous two rounds.

Across his two spells in charge this season, Martin O’Neill has largely favoured a 4-2-3-1 formation and he is expected to stick with that system at Hampden on Saturday. Celtic remain without Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota, Julian Araujo, Kasper Schmeichel and Tomas Cvancara through injury.

Dunfermline have enjoyed a fairytale run to their first Scottish Cup final since 2007. What makes the Pars’ journey even more impressive is that they have eliminated three Scottish Premiership sides in the shape of Hibernian, Aberdeen and Falkirk.

Neil Lennon’s men finished the Scottish Championship campaign in 4th place to secure a spot in the promotion play-offs, where they edged past Arbroath in the opening round. However, the Pars were unable to overcome Partick Thistle in the semi-finals, losing 3-2 on aggregate.

While Dunfermline boss Lennon switched between a 4-3-3 and a 4-4-2 formation across both legs against Partick Thistle last week, his preferred system throughout the regular season was typically a 3-4-3. The Fife outfit will again be unable to call upon the services of Ewan Otoo, Freddie Turley, Graham Carey, Olly Thomas and Zack Rudden.
