Chelsea to have 3+ Shots on Target

Chelsea have had more than three shots on target in each of their six games at the Club World Cup so far. Their lowest total came against Flamengo in the group stages, which was a game where they were reduced to 10 men around the hour mark, but still managed to find the target on four occasions.

They had 12 shots on target across their 120 minutes against Benfica in the Round of 16 and have also managed 6+ shots on target in three of these games in the run up to the final against Palmeiras, Fluminense and Esperance. Admittedly, these opponents aren’t of the quality of PSG, but Chelsea do have the talent within their ranks to find the target on at least three occasions here, especially when considering the depth they can call upon from the bench.

PSG have conceded 3+ shots on target in three of their six games at the Club World Cup. Chelsea have shown plenty of attacking quality at the tournament, as displayed by the 12 goals they’ve scored across their six matches (2.0 per game).

Chelsea to Receive 2+ Cards

Chelsea have received two or more cards in four of their six games at the Club World Cup. They didn’t receive a card against Esperance in the group stages, which is to be expected as it was quite a one sided affair, and they only saw one yellow card in their triumph over Fluminense in the semi-final, which was another pretty straightforward encounter.

Chelsea are known to be quite a restless side, while their performances on the pitch are improving, discipline still tends to be an issue for Enzo Maresca’s men, especially in high profile situations like this. Chelsea were shown three yellow cards in their recent Conference League final victory over Real Betis.

Chelsea received 99 yellow cards during the 24/25 Premier League season which was more than any other side in the division, marking the second season where Chelsea have collected more cards than any other side in the league. Receiving a high number of cards is a longstanding trend for the Blues.

PSG to Lift the Trophy

PSG are rightly favourites to lift the trophy when the sides clash at the MetLife stadium on Sunday. The Parisians have been imperious and unstoppable against their European rivals in recent months, with heavy victories over the likes of Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Arsenal just to name a few of the sides that Luis Enrique’s side have put to the sword of late.

PSG solidified their dominance over Europe with a 5-0 thrashing of Inter Milan in the Champions League final, which was one of the most one sided finals in recent memory. It’s likely not to be as one sided here, as Chelsea do have quite a bit of momentum coming into this final, but PSG should be able to navigate their way to the trophy.

There is an the argument that Chelsea have not really been tested at the Club World Cup, while PSG have already had to see off Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the knockout stages, so the French side come into this final a little more battle hardened.

Cole Palmer to have 1+ Shots on Target

This is a pretty generous price for Cole Palmer to have one shot on target in this final, he’s had 17 shots across his five starts at the Club World Cup (3.28 per 90), with five of these attempts finding the target (0.97 per 90).

Palmer has been battling inconsistency over the last few months but tends to relish these big occasions, having put in a man of the match display against Real Betis in the Conference League final recently, which was a game that saw Palmer find the target twice. A deeper dive into his record in finals shows that he’s more than capable of delivering in the most important moments, with winning goals in the Super Cup and U21 EURO final.

Palmer found the target regularly for Chelsea during the 24/25 campaign, managing 51 attempts on target across his 37 appearances in the Premier League (1.44 per 90).

Marc Cucurella to be Shown a Card

Marc Cucurella has enjoyed another solid campaign at the Club World Cup to add to his growing stock, following his performances at the European Championships last summer and for Chelsea during the most recent campaign. He’s particularly strong in 1v1 duels, even against some of the best wide players in the world, but may struggle here against Desire Doue.

No fullback has been able to contain Doue as of yet, and despite Cucurella’s defensive strength, the young winger may be the opponent who can get the better of him regularly. Doue has won seven fouls across his six appearances at the Club World Cup (1.32 per 90) and averaged 1.58 fouls won per 90 across his 16 appearances in the Champions League last season.

Cucurella has received one caution at the Club World Cup, which came in Chelsea’s opening game of the tournament against LAFC. He’s committed 10 fouls across his five appearances at the tournament (1.88 per 90) which is a record that suggests he’ll have to commit a few fouls here to contain Doue, as well as Hakimi who also pushes on down Cucurella’s flank.

Chelsea to Receive the Most Cards

While Chelsea may struggle to overcome PSG, they could receive more cards in the final. Chelsea have been shown 13 yellows in six Club World Cup games (2.16 per game), compared to PSG’s five (0.83 per game).

Chelsea’s disciplinary record suggests they will pick up more bookings. They received 99 yellows in the 24/25 Premier League, the most in the division, while PSG collected just 40 in Ligue 1, the fewest.

In the Champions League, PSG were shown only 19 yellows despite reaching the latter stages, fewer than teams like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Their opponents, however, received 36 cards. This contrast in discipline makes Chelsea more likely to end up with more bookings in the final.
