Udinese Double Chance

Udinese’s record of two wins, two draws and two losses highlights their inconsistency this term, and their tally of eight points put them one point behind their hosts at the weekend. However, it is worth noting that both victories have come on their travels, and Le Zebrette have been unfortunate with their results so far. Udinese have scored just six goals from 7.3 xG, while also conceding nine goals from 6.5 xG - underperforming in both boxes.

Meanwhile, Cremonese rank rock bottom of the league for total xG created, managing a measly total of just 4.3 xG after six games - they have been lucky to have scored seven goals so far. After an unbeaten start to the campaign, Cremonese were dealt a harsh reality check against Inter Milan last time out, which is certain to hurt their confidence, and we could see some regression this weekend.

Udinese to have 4+ Shots on Target

Excluding their 3-2 win over Sassuolo back in August, Cremonese have averaged just 5.0 shots and 0.37 xG per game, highlighting their struggles in attack. With limited threat going forward, the newly-promoted side often find themselves pinned back into their own half and under sustained pressure.

In fact, Cremonese have conceded a total of 10.3 xGA this term, which is the 2nd-highest tally in the Italian top-flight - only Cagliari have conceded more. Their opponents have been able to fashion shooting chances at will, averaging 18.2 shots per game, with 35.7% of those hitting the target.

Marco Silvestri has filled in for Emil Audero over the last two games, and racked up a total of 10 saves. Given that Udinese have hit this mark in seven of their eight matches in all competitions this term, he could be kept busy once again.

Arthur Atta to have 2+ Shots

Udinese will know that a victory here could see them jump into the top half of the Serie A standings, so they will look to capitalise against a weaker defensive side. Arthur Atta, in particular, should be looking forward to this matchup.

The 22-year-old has started all six league matches for Udinese this term, during which he is averaging 2.76 shots per 90, and has landed this selection in four out of six games overall. The France international is given plenty of attacking licence from midfield to get forward into the box, while Atta also fancies his chances from range.

He scored his first goal of the season against Inter Milan with a powerful strike from the edge of the area, helping his side win that game 2-1, while eight of his 16 attempts in the league have come from distance.

Matteo Bianchetti to Commit 1+ Fouls

Matteo Bianchetti racked up a total of 56 fouls from 35 Serie B starts last season, which was more than any other player in the Cremonese squad. His aggressive defending style saw him pick up a total of nine yellow cards, while he was also sent off once.

The centre back is not the type of player to shy away from a duel, and although he is yet to be carded this season, he has maintained his no-nonsense approach. Bianchetti has committed a foul in all four of the league games in which he has completed the full 90, including two fouls against Inter Milan last time out.

He will be up against Keinan Davis this weekend, who also enjoys a physical battle, and is adept at drawing infringements. In fact, Davis was fouled four times against Cagliari just before the international break, and is averaging 2.84 fouls drawn per 90 this term.

📈 Cremonese v Udinese Form & Tactics

Following their promotion from Serie B last season, Cremonese have lost just one of their opening six matches in the top-flight to put them in a respectable 10th position.

However, after winning their opening two matches, La Cremo steadily declined, playing out three draws before losing 4-1 against Inter Milan just prior to the international break. The Nerazzurri were able to carve out chances at will in that game, as they racked up 27 shots and 11 big chances worth 3.57 xG. Cremonese could only manage three shots, amounting to 0.64 xG in return.

Udinese fared much better in the matchup against Inter Milan, as they pulled off a 2-1 victory at the San Siro. Having gone 1-0 down after just 17 minutes, La Zebrette fought back to take the lead before half time. They were able to resist the hosts’ onslaught in the second period, and hold on to their first victory of the season.

Udinese followed that up by beating Pisa 1-0 on their travels, but it was downhill from there. La Zebrette come into this clash having failed to win any of their last three matches before the October international break.

📔Cremonese v Udinese Formation & Team News

Goalkeeper Emil Audero suffered a leg injury which ruled him out of two games before the international break, with Marco Silvestri replacing him between the sticks. Silvestri did put in some positive performances, but Audero seems set to reclaim his starting spot.

Cremonese are likely to stick with their 5-3-2 formation, with Franco Vazquez and Antonio Sanabria to spearhead the attack. Jamie Vardy is still yet to start for his new club since joining, but he did appear off the bench against Inter Milan last time out.

Thomas Kristensen missed out for Udinese against Cagliari with a muscle injury, and might need some more time to recover, while Adam Buksa is also unlikely to feature this weekend after breaking his nose. Other than that, Kosta Runjaic will have a full squad of players to select from, and is likely to go for a similar XI to the one that played against Cagliari. Nicolo Zaniolo has led the line in the last two Udinese games since arriving from Galatasaray, picking up a booking in both of those matches.
