Finland v Poland
Kick Off: Tuesday 10th June at 19:45
Competition: World Cup 2026 Qualifying
Poland have won both of their WCQ games so far against Malta and Lithuania, winning both to nil.
Finland have only kept one clean sheet across their last 15 international matches.
Poland have made an excellent start to their World Cup qualifying campaign with two wins from their opening two matches to sit top of Group G at this early stage of the season. They’ve kept clean sheets in each of those games and will be hoping to compete with the Netherlands at the top of this group.
⭐ Finland v Poland Predictions and Best Bets
Poland look like the side worth backing here, despite being away from home. Michal Probierz’s side look more assured than Finland at the moment and can use their early momentum in the group to record a victory over Finland who have failed to win their last two qualifiers against the Netherlands and Lithuania.
Poland have plenty of talent scattered throughout the side even if they are without Robert Lewandowski who is their all time top scorer. The likes of Matty Cash, Piotr Zielinksi and Nicola Zalewski can all hurt Finland with their results over Lithuania and Malta pretty comfortable so far.
⚪ Finland On a Barren Run of Form
Finland won their opening qualifying game against Malta but have struggled since then, drawing 2-2 with Lithuania and losing 2-0 to the Netherlands at home.
Finland have been on a barren run of form for some time and look like a side that need a change in direction. Finland finished bottom of their Nations League B group, losing all six games in the process and conceding 13 goals whilst only scoring two themselves.
Finland have only managed to keep one clean sheet across their last 15 matches in all competitions which came against Malta who still managed to generate an xG of 1.85 against Finland. Aside from that shutout, their last clean sheet came in 2023.
🔴 Poland Feeling Content Ahead of Fiercer Tests
Poland will be content with their wins over Malta and Lithuania so far but will be aware that there are bigger tests in the group to come, with Finland being their closest challengers to the Netherlands which gives Poland a real chance of battling through this group.
Poland are without Robert Lewandowski at the moment which does harm their firepower slightly but as they’re up against a side that has only kept one clean sheet across their last 15 matches, they should have enough to break the Finnish resolve.
Poland fought valiantly but ultimately finished bottom of their Nations League A group in which they were joined by Portugal, Croatia and Scotland so this isn’t the most embarrassing of outcomes. They did manage to score nine goals across those games which indicates that they can test high quality opposition.
📊 Finland v Poland Head-to-Head Key Stats
This is the first meeting between these sides since a friendly in 2020 which ended in a 5-1 win for Poland. Poland and Finland have not faced off in a competitive competition in recent memory.
