AC Milan v Udinese
🏟
Friday 25th February – 5:45PM KO
AC Milan, like everyone else at the top of Serie A, got away with one last weekend. They drew 2-2 away at the bottom side Salernitana which was very much not in the script as far as the Rossoneri are concerned. The blow was softened by every other title rival dropping points as well but Milan will know that they cannot slip up again at San Siro on Friday night.
They’re taking on a Udinese side who are slowly getting sucked into the relegation fight after a relatively steady first half of the season. They sit just three points ahead of Cagliari who are 18th, but the Bianconeri do have two games in hand over some teams around them.
They picked up a respectable point against Lazio last weekend but it is very likely that this AC Milan side will simply have too much for them. Despite the draw with Salernitana, Stefano Pioli’s side should not be conceding to a team like Udinese this season and they certainly should be finding the back of the net at least once.
Rafael Leao is in a very rich vein of form right now and appears to be enjoying his football. This is the sort of match where he will try and show the world what he can do. He has started to link up very well with Olivier Giroud and for that reason, Milan will surely bounce back on Friday evening and take all three points.

Genoa v Inter
🏟
Friday 25th February – 8:00PM KO
Despite being away to a team in the relegation zone, this could be one of Simone Inzaghi’s biggest tasks since taking charge at Inter. The Nerazzurri have lost three times in Serie A this season but last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Sassuolo at San Siro was the first time they have lost to a team that are significantly below them in the table.
A mixture of suspensions to key players and a build-up of difficult fixtures took its toll on the side and Inzaghi will want to bounce back immediately away at Genoa.Alessandro Bastoni and Marcelo Brozovic will be back in the side which will be music to the ears of the fans. Despite their terrible form, Genoa may start this game very quickly given Inter’s seemingly fragile confidence. That is why the Grifone may manage to snatch an early goal as Inter feel their way into the game.
Even if that does happen, back Inter to quickly nip the chance of back-to-back defeats in the bud. Edin Dzeko got half a match of rest against Sassuolo and is likely to start this game with the bit between his teeth.
Once Inter take the lead in this match, Inzaghi may encourage his team to fill their boots and rebuild the confidence that has been chipped away by Napoli, AC Milan, Liverpool and Sassuolo over the past three weeks.
If there’s one thing that this Nerazzurri side can usually do, it’s score goals on demand.

Salernitana v Bologna
🏟
Saturday 25th February – 2:00PM KO
This is a battle between two teams that are somewhat drifting through their respective seasons.
Bologna were impressive in their win against Spezia on Monday night but that was their first win in five attempts. They sit 12th in Serie A and do not look destined to get any higher or much lower.Marko Arnautovic scored twice in Monday’s win at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara and Sinisa Mihajlovic will want him to continue that form to avoid an embarrassing defeat to the worst team in Serie A.
Salernitana have drawn their last three games which, depressingly for the Granata fans, is their best form of the season so far. Their 2-2 draw with AC Milan last weekend in David Nicola’s first game in charge will have certainly boosted confidence and they may feel there’s the potential for a rare win when Bologna come to town.
Even if Salernitana do manage to get a rare Serie A win over Bologna, don’t expect it to be by more than a one-goal margin. There is no natural source of goals in the team right now.
As for Bologna, they will be favourites to win but they have been wasteful at times this season. It showed against Spezia when they took much longer to take the lead in the second half than they probably should have. The Rossoblu lack a killer instinct which can be costly in games like this.

Empoli v Juventus
🏟
Saturday 26th February – 5:00PM KO
There are multiple reasons as to why this game will likely not be a classic. Empoli’s form has gone off a cliff lately, and Juventus are still struggling to entertain even when they do win.
The Bianconeri have actually been in decent league form for some time now and are right back in the hunt for fourth place, but there has been a lot of draws or uninspiring wins in there. They will likely be sluggish after a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Spanish side Villareal in midweek meaning they probably won’t be looking to score any more goals than are needed to take all three points.
As for Empoli, they have not won once in their last nine games after a deeply impressive first half of the season. They are not finding the net regularly and have started to concede with alarming frequency.Their approach at the Stadio Carlo Castellani on Saturday will likely be to stay in the game as long as possible and hope that the Champions League fixture has an effect on Juventus’ attacking players.
The most likely scenario will be Juventus taking the lead and then resting on their laurels. In most situations, they would and have been punished for that, but this Empoli team is devoid of confidence and may struggle to turn the game around.

Sassuolo vs Fiorentina
🏟
Saturday 26th February – 7:45PM KO
This is a game that will feature lots of attacking talent attempting to outscore each other.
Sassuolo come into the game fresh off the back of a 2-0 win at San Siro over Inter in which young Italian duo Giacomo Raspdori and Gianluca Scamacca both found the back of the net. With those two on the pitch as well as Hamed Traore and Domenico Berardi, every game that Sassuolo play in could have a lot of goals flying in.
Despite losing Dusan Vlahovic to Juventus in the January transfer window, Fiorentina still have goals in the team. Krzysztof Piatek has hit the ground running on his return to Serie A and scored the only goal in La Viola’s crucial 1-0 win over Atalanta last weekend. That victory coupled with all the other results means that they are right in the mix for fourth place. They’ve won three of their last five league games and have not really unleashed Arthur Cabral and Jonathan Ikone yet who joined the club in January.
Apart from Filip Djuricic, both teams should have all of their attacking talent available. With many of those players on the pitch, it would be very surprising if this game at the Mapei Stadium was not filled with goals.
The two sides are separated by just one goal in terms of how frequently they find the back of the net but the fact that Sassuolo are guilty of conceding much more than Fiorentina means Vincenzo Italiano will be hoping his team can prevail.
