His 17 Premier League goals this season make him the highest-scoring Ghanaian in a single top-flight campaign. Ghana arrive at this tournament with one of the most in-form attackers in European football. 

Thomas Partey

At his best, Thomas Partey is the engine that makes Ghana tick. He is a commanding presence who dictates tempo, wins the ball back and drives his side forward with purpose. 

The 32-year-old Villarreal midfielder has almost 60 caps for Ghana with 15 goals and remains one of the most experienced figures in the squad. The concern heading into this tournament is fitness, as Partey has struggled for consistent playing time at Villarreal this season.

When fit and sharp, he elevates Ghana significantly. The question Queiroz will be desperate to answer is whether he can get that version of Partey on the pitch. 

Issahaku Fatawu

The Leicester City winger arrives at this World Cup with considerable momentum behind him. Despite plying his trade in the Championship for a struggling side that got relegated to League One, Fatawu delivered nine goals and seven assists. 

He has carried that form into the international arena too, contributing a goal and an assist across three 2026 World Cup qualifiers, and then finding the net against Germany in the March friendlies.
