Hearts will be looking to return to winning ways in the Scottish Premiership when they take on Dundee at Tynecastle on Saturday.

Derek McInnes’ side dropped points for just the second time this season when being held to a 2-2 draw by St Mirren on Wednesday night.

That stalemate coupled with Celtic’s win over Falkirk means that Hearts’ lead at the top of the table has been reduced to six points. Meanwhile, Dundee - despite not playing in midweek - now find themselves occupying a place in the relegation play-off spot.

Hearts to Win @ 1.26

I think a home game with Dundee presents Hearts with a perfect opportunity to get back up and running. The Jam Tarts produced a real statement of intent by sweeping aside Celtic 3-1 at Tynecastle last weekend. Derek McInnes’ men have also seen off Aberdeen and Hibernian at home this season, which doesn’t bode well for a Dundee side that have struggled on the road this term.

Steven Pressley’s side have come away empty-handed from recent away games at St Mirren, Aberdeen and Falkirk, and it would be fair to say that Hearts will represent a step up in class.

Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.67

Hearts’ Scottish Premiership matches this season have often been entertaining affairs, with seven of their opening 10 contests of the campaign featuring over 2.5 goals. That sample includes five of the Jam Tarts’ eight victories in the Scottish top-flight this term.

Derek McInnes’ hosts have covered the over 2.5 goal line single-handedly in four of their league wins this season, and I think a repeat here is well within the realms of possibility.

Dundee were hammered 4-0 away at Aberdeen in early October, while the Dark Blues’ loss at Falkirk last weekend also produced over 2.5 goals.

📈 Hearts v Dundee Form & Stats

Hearts came from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw away at St Mirren on Wednesday night. That means Derek McInnes’ side remain the only side in this season’s Scottish Premiership that have yet to taste defeat.

Hearts have posted four wins and one draw across their five Scottish Premiership home games this season. What’s more, no team has scored more home goals than Hearts (12) in this season’s Scottish top-flight. It’s also worth noting that the Jam Tarts have netted two or more goals in all bar one of their 10 Scottish Premiership matches this term.

After posting four clean sheets in succession, Hearts have conceded a combined total of three goals across their last two Scottish Premiership matches.

Despite being six points clear at the top of the table, Hearts have earned a sizeable average of 2.30 cards per game in this season’s Scottish Premiership.

Dundee have blown hot and cold in the Scottish Premiership this season. The Dark Blues have taken points off both halves of the Old Firm this term, however, they have often come up short against the sides that are situated in and around them in the table.

Steven Pressley’s side will arrive in the capital having lost three of their last four league matches, the most recent of which was a 2-1 defeat away at Falkirk. That means Dundee have failed to pick up any points from each of their last three league games away from Dens Park.

Dundee are currently one of the lowest-scoring sides in this season’s Scottish Premiership, netting just nine times across their opening 10 league games of the campaign. It’s also worth pointing out that the Dark Blues have blanked in three of their five league games away from home this term.
