There were several question marks around the appointment of Chivu at the start of the campaign, whether he would be able to replace Simone Inzaghi, whether he would be able to lift the heads of his troops after losing out on the Scudetto and the Champions League trophy at the end of the 24/25 campaign, and how Inter would fight back from a disappointing Club World Cup run, which saw them eliminated in the first knockout round. 

But, the Nerazzurri looked energised against Torino, and Chivu was seemingly able to put those doubts to bed. His side pressed strongly, won their physical battles across the field and dominated Torino at the San Siro. It’s still early days, but Inter Milan look strong in the final third - Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram both got on the scoresheet in gameweek one, while Bonny and Luis Henrique seem to be an upgrade on Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa, who departed over the summer.

⚫ Udinese Depleted in Forward Areas

Following the departure of Lorenzo Lucca on loan to Napoli, and Florian Thauvin to Lens on a permanent deal, Udinese have lost two of their key attacking players from last season. Lucca was the top scorer in the league for Le Zebrette with 12 goals, while Thauvin contributed eight - the next highest was Jurgen Ekkelenkamp with just three goals. 

The absence of those two was sorely felt against Verona in gameweek one, as Udinese were held to a 1-1 draw via a Suat Serdar equaliser for the visitors. Udinese created just 0.73 xG from 14 shots in front of a home crowd, highlighting an underwhelming attacking display. 

Keinan Davis and Iker Bravo offered up very little in the final third as the new strike partnership. It was centre back Thomas Kristensen who scored the only goal for Udinese, coming from a corner.
