Juventus are one of two teams that are still unbeaten on home turf in the Italian top flight this season - their record of seven wins and four draws at the Allianz Stadium speaks volumes about how they are such a difficult side to beat.

The Bianconeri have been a real force to be reckoned with since Luciano Spalletti took over, and they come into this clash having won seven of their last eight matches on home turf. 

While Lazio present a tough matchup, Juventus have fared well against the top sides in Turin, beating the likes of Inter Milan and Roma, while they also secured a comfortable 3-0 win against Napoli in their last home outing. 

Meanwhile, Lazio won’t be looking forward to this matchup, given that they have lost each of their last five matches against Juventus in Turin, by an aggregate score of 10-1.

Lazio have struggled against the top sides this season, particularly when playing away. They have lost against both Inter Milan and AC Milan at the San Siro, while also succumbing to defeats against Napoli and Como on home turf - all of those aforementioned teams rank in the Serie A top six. Even more worryingly, Lazio failed to score in any of those four matches. 

Eight yellow cards were dished out when Lazio recently played Como. The Eagles are averaging 2.0 cards per game in the Italian top flight this season, but they rank second in the charts for total fouls drawn and have forced the most yellow cards in the division.

Juventus games haven’t quite been as aggressive this season, with an average of just 3.2 cards per game at the Allianz Stadium, but there does seem to be an uptick in the more competitive fixtures. There were four cards shown in the contests between Inter and AC Milan, and this selection also recently landed against Roma. 

Pierre Kalulu has only picked up one yellow card this season, but he is averaging 1.13 fouls per 90 across all competitions this season, and has landed this selection in eight of his last 11 matches. 

The main focus here is his matchup on the flank, as Kalulu should find duels against Pedro. The 38-year-old hasn’t featured regularly this season, but with Mattia Zaccagni out injured, the former Chelsea man looks set to start on the left wing here. He was fouled once against Genoa last time out, taking his average to 3.34 fouls drawn per 90 for the season.

Based on their head-to-head record against Juventus in Turin, this could be another tough night for Lazio, with clear-cut chances at a premium.

However, what might give them a bit of confidence is the fact that they managed to beat Juventus when these sides last met back in October. Toma Basic scored the first and only goal of that game, which was a wonderful strike from distance. 

The Croatian international is averaging 1.98 shots per 90 this season, with the majority of those coming from distance. In fact, of his 25 shots, 17 of those have come from outside the box. That statistic becomes interesting against Juventus, as Lazio might have to rely on efforts from range. 

Basic racked up four shots against Genoa last time out, meaning he has landed this selection in seven of his last eight starts in the league.
