👑 Friday’s Kempton Win Double Tips
INAPPROPRIATE delivered an impressive hurdle debut win at Doncaster – beating a well-touted rival in the process – who ran fourth in a hot Cheltenham novice event, subsequently.
A dual flat winner over 1m2f, the son of Churchill jumped accurately that day, which ought to stand him in good stead here. French recruit, Nardaran, is a notable contender to look out for, on debut for Paul Nicholls.
Already ante-post favourite for both Grade One novice chases at the Cheltenham festival, BALLYBURN is set to light up Kempton, following an ultra-impressive success on first run over fences at Punchestown.
His jumping improved throughout the race and was foot-perfect in the second half of the contest. Clearly a classy individual, he could make all of the running, with stamina assured, having won last season’s G1 Novices’ Hurdle over 2m5f at Cheltenham.
🏇🏻 Friday’s Kempton Each-Way Trixie Tips
Our first selection in our Kempton Each Way Trixie comes in the 13:20, where we have DELLA CASA LUNGA, who is looking to land win number three for her new stable this year.
A six-year-old mare who has been ticking along nicely throughout her career but has produced all of her best performances this year and looks a solid improver. Only picking up one win over hurdles in nine starts before this year, Della Casa Lunga raced consistently when finishing inside the top three in six of those appearances but couldn’t land another race after winning at Leopardstown early in 2023.
Kicking off her 2024 campaign in fine style when landing back-to-back wins at Ludlow, the mare dominated two class three events when scoring by eight lengths in February, closely followed by an 8 1⁄2 length victory. Solid form and proving her ability last time out when finishing second to short-priced favourite Kateira in a listed event, the mare beat today’s rival Pawapuri (3rd) comfortably, who was a long way behind (22 lengths), and she looks a great shout to land today’s class two event with the racing she is producing of late.
Our second selection in our Kempton Each Way Trixie comes in the 14:30, where we have MARTATOR, who is looking to land a six-timer here today.
A seven-year-old gelding who has turned into a top-quality chaser after not showing a great deal over hurdles in the UK for Venetia Williams. A two-time winner in France over hurdles before making the switch to Venetia Williams’ yard in November 2022, it didn’t take long for the gelding to be switched to fences (four races), where he has shown a dramatic turn in his form. Finishing inside the top three in his opening five appearances, Martator has really kicked on since March this year and has won his last five appearances, all by wide margins.
Improving rapidly, he produced career-best performances at Ascot last month, and the winning margin of 1 3⁄4 lengths doesn’t do his victory justice in a class one event, looking like he had plenty in reserve before following up and dominating a class two handicap by 11 lengths. A rapid improver for Venetia Williams, who doesn’t look to be anywhere near his ceiling, and a bold bid is expected in today’s race.
Our final selection for our Kempton Each Way Trixie comes in the 15:08, where we have DREAMING BLUE, who has won three of his last five appearances.
A seven-year-old gelding who is producing a career-best year after only managing to pick up one win over fences in his 10 chase appearances before this year and looks likely to improve further after a positive display when stepped up to 3m1f last time out. Racing five times this year, Dreaming Blue has been in top form, winning three of his five appearances, and is heading into today on the back of a solid performance at Ludlow.
Racing predominantly between 2m1f and 2m5f trips throughout his entire career, Dreaming Blue hasn’t raced over today’s 3m trip, but racing over a further 3m1f twice in his career, he has recorded a third place and a win last time out. Making all the running and staying on well earlier this month at Ludlow, he’s a versatile sort who has proven he can win on all types of ground conditions, and given his current mood, he should be tough to stop here today.
🗒️ Friday’s Kempton Each-Way Lucky 15 Tips
FORTUNA LIGNA holds each-way claims, granted a strong pace to aim at. The seven-year-old mare races off bottom weight and is a pound lower than when a keeping-on fourth in this race last season. She fared better in her Ascot prep run this time around, which is a positive sign, before this assignment.
Despite challengers for the lead, SANS BRUIT appears a big each-way price, compared to one of the likely favourite’s Martator – who is 21lb worse off at the weights – after beating the selection by 11.3 lengths last time. This flatter track will suit Sans Bruit and he isn’t to be underestimated on suitable ground.
We’re siding with DREAMING BLUE again in this each-way lucky 15, he has won 3 of his last 5 runs and has developed an impressive level of consistency. He’s very adaptable to different distances which means the trip isn’t a worry, and looks likely to be involved at the finish this afternoon.
The highly regarded WILLMOUNT is given another chance to confirm the promise shown thus far in his short career. He was supported in the market when falling at Cheltenham last time, from an opening handicap hurdle mark of 130.
Sent off 9-4 for a Grade One novice hurdle last season, he could easily have something in hand from his current rating, and has the chance to exploit that at the Sunbury venue.
