LAFC will see this as a real opportunity for them not only to get one over on their rivals who are really struggling at the moment, but also to make up ground on the sides around them that have progressed while they were at the Club World Cup.
LAFC have at least two games in hand on the teams around them, so their current seven point gap to San Diego, who currently sit atop the Western Conference, could soon be cut down to a solitary point if they take maximum points from their games in hand.

LA Galaxy have really struggled in the MLS this season and still sit bottom of the Western Conference after 23 games. They’ve only managed to taste victory in three of these matches - two of these wins have come within their last five games, so there are signs of hope for the Galaxy.
However, the most worrying sign for LA Galaxy here is that they have not won a single game away from home this season. Eight of their 12 away games have ended in defeat and they’ve conceded 27 goals across these fixtures.

The last six head to head meetings between the sides have seen BTTS. The most recent clash took place in the middle of May and ended in a 2-2 draw.
LAFC were marginally the better side on that occasion, but a draw was a fair result when looking over the underlying numbers.
