Once again, Leverkusen were firmly second best in terms of expected goals, against a team that, on paper, they should breeze past.

Mönchengladbach issues, of which there have been plenty, stand in stark contrast to Leverkusen’s, as they continue to underperform in all areas of the pitch.

Mönchengladbach are yet to record a win in the Bundesliga, or even make it onto the scoresheet, having managed their sole point in their opening 0-0 draw against Hamburg. This sparked Gerardo Seoane’s dismissal, with fans left hoping for a new manager bounce.
