Goals galore at Venezuelan ground share
Our South American expert (who correctly called over 2.5 goals in Deportivo Garcilaso v Cusco last week, which also involved a ground share) is at it again! This time we’re off to Venezuela, and he’s spotted that the bookies have underpriced the goals selection for this Venezuelan Primera Division clash between Metropolitanos and La Guaira. Both sides come into this in somewhat inconsistent defensive form, and with both teams playing in their “home” ground due to the ground share, goals should be on the cards.

💎 Gem Bet: Over 2.5 goals in Metropolitanos v La Guaira (Venezuelan Primera Division)
Metropolitanos v La Guaira
We took full advantage of last week’s Peruvian ground share bet, and we have another this weekend over in Venezuela.
Both Metropolitanos and La Guaira ground share at Estadio Olimpico de la UCV, yet the bookmakers have not factored this into their pricing.
In fact, La Guaira are the outsiders at 3.0, and having won the last three head-to-head, I wouldn’t put you off siding with the “away side” on Sunday evening. It’s worth noting they’ve only lost two out of the last ten head-to-head matches.
La Guaira are also unbeaten at Olimpicio de la UCV in their last ten matches – where over 2.5 goals has landed in six of those games and both teams to score on seven occasions.
The same can’t be said for Metropolitanos. They’ve lost five of their last ten home matches and fell to a 4-1 defeat last time out to Zamora – a side languishing in 12th in the table.
Both sides do have something in common at this stadium though – they score often. Metropolitanos have scored 20, while La Guaira have 22 of their own. Overall, only those teams occupying first, second and third have scored more this season.
La Guaira have had five different goalscorers in their last three matches, but keep an eye on 18-year-old forward Sebastian Castillo, who has five goals to his name this season and looks a real prospect.
Neither team is in prolific form at the moment, and although they continue to find the back of the net, it’s keeping the ball out which is a problem. La Guaira have conceded nine in their last five, while Metropolitanos have conceded 10.
Both sides need to win to propel themselves into the top four and effectively into the promotion final round – but with just a few games left in which to achieve that, expect anything but a cagey match between these two sides.
